Crimes of Domestic Violence

There are two types of domestic violence:

Simple domesticviolence

Aggravated. domesticviolence

Simpledomesticviolence includes any of the following:

(a) attempts to inflict bodily harm on another person;

(b) negligently inflicts such harm on another person while using a deadly weapon or other means likely to result in death or serious bodily harm; Or

(c) physically threatening to inflict such harm on another person.

The victim must be a member of the defendant's immediate family or household, a person with whom the defendant currently or formerly shared a home, a spouse, someone with whom the defendant is currently dating, or a person with whom the defendant has shared a child, either biologically or legally.
