How America Learned to Swing Buselli-Wallarab Jazz Orchestra Ten to twelve jazz musicians will introduce the audience to swing from the 1930’s and 40’s. Includes a music and dance performance, demonstrations, audience participation, and discussion. Through this presentation, students will be introduced to the Swing Era, jazz improvisation, and swing dancing. Performance meets standards in Music and U.S. History. A Jazz Clinic With Buselli-Wallarab Buselli-Wallarab Jazz Orchestra Three horn and three rhythm players will engage your students with singable, dance-able music, from its New Orleans roots to its extensive Indiana connections. Jazz on Strings Cathy Morris Your students will learn about the role of strings in jazz, as performed on acoustic and electric string instruments. A four piece band will lead students back to the multi-cultural roots of bluegrass music, which started as a combination of blues, gospel, and folk dance music.
