Our students Emma is a 2nd grader at Carlton Avenue Elementary School and has been playing piano since kindergarten. She loves to craft, ride bicycles, play Roblox, and to play with her friends on the playground right after school. This is her second piano performance, and she is thrilled to be able to perform again.

Sheoo Choi is a rising 2nd grader at Bullis Charter school. It has been more than one year since she started learning how to play the piano, and she has been really enjoying it. She loves drawing, riding a bike, and playing tennis.

Yueun Hong is a rising freshman at Henry Gunn High School. She has been playing piano with her teacher, Youson Park, for 7 years. She completed level 9 in the Certificate of Merit test this year and plans to take the advanced level the following year. She recently participated in the Junior Bach Festival and placed first in the Pelican International Music Competition for Young Artists. Yueun is also busy swimming competitively with Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics Club and enjoys playing with her dog Bianco in her free time.

Rachael Jin is a rising freshman at Monta Vista High school. Since she was little, Rachael loves to play the piano and has been playing for over 7 years. She also played the cello and was in her school's orchestra during middle school. She loves to read and write poetry in her free time.

Victoria Jin is a rising 4th grader at Lincoln Elementary School. She has been playing piano for over 3 years, and she also plays the violin. She loves to draw, paint, ride her bike, play tennis, and do gardening during her spare time.


Doyoon Kim is an incoming freshman at Henry M. Gunn High School. She has played piano for 9 years now. She received State Honors in CM Level 8 last year, and she will be testing for CM Advanced this year. Doyoon received second place in 2022 PIMC. She also plays the French Horn in her school concert band. In her free time, Doyoon enjoys listening to music and reading books.

Ian Kim is a rising sophomore at Saratoga High School. He has been playing the piano for five years and has passed the level advanced CM test with state honors. Besides playing the piano, he also plays the double bass. He was the principal bassist for both the All State Symphony High School Orchestra and the California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies and biking.

Irene Kim is a rising fifth grader at St. Simon Parish School. She has been playing piano since Kindergarten. She also plays viola. Aside from music, Irene enjoys swimming, golf, and reading books. She loves dogs and is very good at

Jaeyoon Kim is an incoming 7th grader at Jane Lathrop Stanford Middle School. tetherball. He has played piano for 6 years. He received State Honors in CM Level 6, and received first place in 2022 PIMC. He also plays percussion and drums in his school concert band. During his free time, he enjoys listening to music and playing video games.

Jeongwoo Kim is nine years old and is going into the fourth grade at Lincoln Elementary School next year. He has been playing the piano for 3 years and plays tennis and golf. Jeongwoo likes coding, legos, and cars.


Nathan Kim is a senior at Saratoga High School. He has been playing the double bass for six years, as well as clarinet and piano on the side. Throughout middle school, Nathan has been part of his middle school band and also has been a part of the Saratoga High School marching band from the 2018-2019 season. He was in the Saratoga Strings ensemble for the Saratoga High School orchestra as well as the California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra senior group. He was a member of the California All-State orchestra for three years from the 2019-2021 season. Nathan will be attending the Eastman School of Music.

My name is Sarah Kim. I am 12 years old and I go to Kennedy Middle School. Some of the things I like to do are hanging out with my friends, taking trips, and playing the piano. I enjoy playing the piano because it lets me express emotions through the piece.

Yubin Kim is eleven years old and is going into the seventh grade at Kennedy Middle School next year. She has been playing the piano for 5 years and enjoys reading books, playing golf, and spending time with her family and friends.

Ruhi Kotwal is a rising junior at Monta Vista High School and has been playing piano for 13 years. In her free time she likes to hang out with her friends. She is also a competitive soccer player for the club DeAnza Force.


Kai Lee is a rising junior at Gunn High School. He has been playing the cello for six years, and played the piano for eight years. On the cello, he has won prizes at several competitions, most recently 2nd place as part of a trio at USOMC. On the piano, he completed the Certificate of Merit’s Advanced Level. Outside of music, Kai enjoys biking and coding.

Hello, I’m Marin Lee. I’m 8years old and going to be a 3rd grader at Fairmeadow elementary school. I like playing piano and have been playing it for a year. My favorite things to do are reading and watching movies. Also I enjoy swimming and tennis. I’m looking forward to continuing to playing piano.

Shinbi Lee, 12, is going into 7th grade this year at Orchard Hills School in Irvine, California. She started piano around kindergarten. Other than piano, Shinbi loves reading, swimming, baking, and writing. During quarantine, she learned a lot about cooking and baking from her mom. Quarantine also gave her the chance to read many books and make her love for fantasy grow. Shinbi also likes to sing, becoming a member of Honor Choir in fifth grade and having choir as an elective class in sixth grade. She has a fondness for animals, especially dogs, and took horseback riding lessons a while ago. When she has time, she has fun with her friends and family.

Sophia Park is a rising senior at Valley Christian High School. She has been playing piano since the 5th grade with Mrs. Park. She participated and won in the Korean-American Music Supporter’s Association Competition, American Protégé International Piano and Strings competition, and the International US Open Music Competition. Sophia enjoys music in her own time by playing the piano as well as the cello, which she began to learn in the 4th grade. Before this concert, she has also participated in other Benefit concerts with piano and played the cello at senior homes.
