Y Ventures Group Ltd - M-Commerce Is Really A New Frontier For E-Commerce? According to Y Ventures Group Ltd, a Singapore-based data analytics-driven e-commerce merchant and distributor - Mobile commerce, often known as M-Commerce, is a subset of E-Commerce. MCommerce is the wireless web technology that allows users to access digital information from the internet using wireless mobile computing devices or simply wireless handheld devices. We may buy and sell different products and services all around the world with the use of these wireless gadgets, whenever and wherever we like. The gap between consumers and suppliers has been narrowed thanks to these devices. We might presume that M-Commerce is the technologically advanced child of E-Commerce.

As we all know, electronic commerce is the practice of conducting business through the internet using network-based technology. Simply defined, it refers to the sum of all business transactions, particularly those conducted over the Internet - the network of networks. Similarly, “Mobile Commerce” refers to the total number of commercial transactions carried out via the internet – but only those carried out via wireless devices. It is, in fact, a combination of mobile communication and e-commerce. The portability of wireless Internet Devices (WIDs) has resulted in the successful delivery of e-commerce into the hands of consumers, opening up new possibilities for e-commerce activities previously unavailable through traditional PC-based internet offers. As a result, rather than posing a threat to the electronic commerce business, m-commerce is a complementing phenomenon that enhances it. Both are the outcome of technology improvements, resulting in electronic transactions over the internet, which can be accessed by wired or wireless networks. On the other hand, the M-commerce strategy is more than just a wireless extension of an existing website. Even though the ends of both m-commerce and e-commerce are the same (an electronic transaction), the methods to that end are vastly different, particularly in terms of the technology used and the market group targeted. When compared to e-commerce, m-commerce is a far more complex phenomenon. It is accessed by a distinct set of devices, runs on a different operating system, has different presentation standards, and uses different bearer network technology. Companies with a web presence should search for synergies and interoperability of applications and devices, and aim to maximize the competitive advantage. They should try to concentrate on the specific qualities of m-commerce and make use of its prospects.
