WELCOME to our second XTC Ranches sale at our new Eastend SK location. We have been in the Hereford business for over 50 years and this will be our 37th production sale in that time. With the recent addition of Purebred Red Angus to our family operation, we feel we can now even better serve our valued commercial customers. Many great friendships and wonderful sale partnerships have led us to this point. As you can see, we are in this cattle business for the long haul! 2017/2018 have been a couple of challenging years for most all of us in the southern shortgrass prairies. Certainly one of the driest couple of years in a very long time, coupled with drying winds and the ever present threat of fires. But ranchers are a tough persistent group and years like this really make us appreciate the efficient easy doing cowherds. Cattle that can take the tough years and do well are the ones you want to go on with. We appreciate all the support from customers we have had the pleasure to deal with over the years. TERMS: Terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at the sale location. Credit arrangements may be made with individual contributors prior to sale. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers not in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in case of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds. TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP: Proper instructions must be provided at the conclusion of the sale. Extensions granted on order bids only. Costs incurred due to incorrect transfer will be born by the purchaser. Ownership will not be transferred until full settlement has been made. GUARANTEE: Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Hereford Association with regards to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness. LIABILITIES: All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The owners, their employees, sales staff and representatives, and facility owner assume no liability legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. HEALTH: All sale cattle are on the Complete Herd Health Program and will be Ivermectin prior to sale day. DELIVERY: BULLS: We will deliver free within a 300 mile radius on single purchases over $4000. Every assistance will be given in the arranging of shipping and delivery of your purchases. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. All U.S. purchases will be delivered to our closest border crossing unless other arrangements are made with the consignors. NO DELIVERY ON COMMERCIAL LOTS. WINTERING PROGRAM: Charge of wintering bulls will be at cost, and will be announced at the sale. WINTERING FEE MUST BE PAID SALE DAY. All bulls wintered MUST BE INSURED and WILL BE DELIVERED AFTER April 1st, 2018. INSURANCE: We strongly recommend that insurance is purchased for full value. XTC Ranches strives to raise ranch ready cattle with a focus on feet and fleshing ability. We require easy doing cattle here in Eastend, and want to provide our customers with the same low maintenance type of cattle. We believe that when we sell bulls to the commercial rancher, the bull will adapt to any environment they are put in. Our cows are raised on primarily native grass year round, and we try to winter graze all of the cows as far into winter that mother nature allows us to do. Our cows calve out on their own in large fields with the protection of the natural topography. Therefore, we allow our environment to be one of our best selection tools. Calving ease is more than just an EPD number here! Our bulls are sold as 2 year olds and we feel that this allows us to grow out these bulls without having to push them. They spend the summer on grass while being developed with oats/barley for the sale in February. From short marked goggle eyes to yellow feathernecks we feel there is a bull here for everyone.

We have been raising red angus cattle for over 30 years and purebred red angus cattle since 1994. These bulls are not left overs, we specifically kept the calves that were born March 15 and later for this sale. All our bulls have been vaccinated with Pyramid PF 5 + Presponse and Tasvax 8 at branding and weaning. In November, they were given Ivomec and before the sale they will be semen tested and given express 3VL5. Our goal is to provide a strong selection of cattle for our customers and help them find a bull that will work for their program. We strictly cull our cattle for feet, udders and disposition.
