In his advanced-level Photography 3 class, Josh used an MA 10050 multiphase microscope to capture images of his saliva, hair and skin cells, juxtaposing them against a plaster cast of his face and hand.

“

Through studying science at Crossroads, I began to observe the world differently, contemplating the endless reasons as to why and how the life around me came to be. I started to picture the invisible forces around us: the chlorophyll of the trees, the infinite strands of DNA in passersby and my family members from hundreds of years ago who contributed to every detail of my existence. Science and technology enable me to venture into the future with an open mind and a willingness to challenge all that I have ever known. JOSH, 12th grade
