from credit crunch to low green growth in the future
Investment and Financing Forum What is this? Economic turbulence threatens the blue skies of the forest sector. Common to many countries is the “real economy” crisis. But unprecedented challenges call for unprecedented solutions. Many are involved: TIMOs, forest and investment funds, banks, governments, large forest corporations, other industries, development institutions. And the political agenda is looking for a breath of clean air – from the forest sector.
Target groups Who is it for? We’re looking for visionary changeoriented thinkers. Farlooking thinkers from the private sector and the financing community to engage in dynamic dialogue. Many business sectors are revolving in and around forests: renewable energy, biotech & pharma, forestbased carbon, ecosystem services. Do you have the leadership to innovate how forest dependent industries can best foster green growth? Get down with investors, corporations and institutions from the leading forest countries. Let’s design together clear horizons for our sustainable future.
Launching the eForum – Why should I participate? At the XIII WFC, we’ll need a new vision of forestdependent business clusters. Together, we can shape a roadmap out of the crisis and beyond. Prior to the event, we’ll be meeting on an electronic Forum (eForum), an informal space for exchanging thoughts, experiences, visions. Sit comfortably at your computer. Two moderators will facilitate an exciting debate, along the lines of the two sessions scheduled at the WFC: Morning Session: New Strategies, Restructuring and Investments Afternoon Session: Financing for Change
