It is my great pleasure to be one of the guests and an advisor for the sixth edition of the SME and Entrepreneurs Business Awards. My heartiest congratulations to all the winners of the SME and Entrepreneurs Business Awards 2021.

SME and Entrepreneurs Business Awards has been a forerunner in propelling entrepreneurs further through judging validation and prestigious recognition. It is essential to continue to motivate SMEs and entrepreneurs during this trying time. Challenges faced by entrepreneurs during the Covid-19 pandemic have served as the turning point for all of us to embrace the new normal, especially in technology.

Entrepreneurs have to change their mindsets and be prepared to accept this new normal. The government had implemented various initiatives to equip entrepreneurs with skills and knowledge, including financial management, and attract more youths into business. With that, the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives will focus on developing more resilient businesses that can withstand any challenge in the future.

We continue to streamline existing schemes and create more efficient methods in line with the ministry’s policies. We want to establish a race and nation of entrepreneurs, and through intensive training programmes like New Gen Entrepreneurship Online Bootcamp (N-GENE) we can train and guide youths. Other initiatives to help affected entrepreneurs included Cooperative Movement Economic Transformation Programme, Cooperative Economic Recovery Intervention Financing Programme, and Program Semarak Niaga Keluarga Malaysia.

We can achieve an entrepreneur nation by working hand-in-hand with various associations and bringing positive recovery and growth to Malaysia.

Thank you.

YBHG. DATO’ SURIANI BINTI DATO’ AHMAD

Secretary General Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives
