Stephen Kunen ‘02 married Handie Peng in June at Holy Rosary Church.
of Medicine, has been awarded the 2013-14 National Institute of Mental Health Medical Student Fellowship in Mental Health Research. Simon is the first student at SIU to receive the award, which was given to only seven medical students in the U.S. this year. He will begin the year-long fellowship in September.

Chris Bashinelli ‘04
Chris Bashinelli is receiving rave reviews as he traverses the globe from Tanzania to Thailand as Host and Producer of Bridge the Gap (PBS), where he discovers what it’s like to walk in someone else’s shoes for one day. He is a United Nations Emcee, an International Speaker (TEDx), a Writer for Lonely Planet, and is the recipient of a National Geographic Young Explorers grant. Salvatore Pietro Inzerillo has been working for delivery.com since April 2012. His newest title is Neighborhood Manager, Sales NY-Metro. Danny Soldano has been working as a Realtor in Bay Ridge and Downtown Brooklyn for the past five years and has recently joined a new office called The Dorsa Group Realty (9012 3rd Avenue, 30 www.xaverian.org
Bay Ridge). Danny is working as a sales agent there, and also serves as one of the managers for the office.
Class of 2006 Jason Krantz is engaged to be married to Alexis Roldan.
Class of 2007 Thomas W. DeAngelo graduated from the FDNY Academy from EMS as part of the first class in five years, and is now a Probational Firefighter at Engine 157/ Ladder 80 in Staten Island. Michael Maniaci was recently hired as Manager, Program Development at CMT (Country Music Television), a Viacom company. Maniaci is tasked with developing hit series for the network.
Class of 2009 Oday Aboushi was selected by the New York Jets in the fifth round of the NFL draft on April 27, 2013, making him the first Xaverian graduate to reach the NFL. An ALL-ACC selection at offensive tackle for the University of Virginia Cavaliers in 2012, Oday is excited to be returning home. Oday said, “My goal was always to be in the NFL. To be able to play for my hometown team and to be able to see my family members right in my backyard is honestly just a blessing.” Frank Gallinaro and his brother Michael ’19, sons of Frank Gallinaro ’80, both suffer from Crohn’s disease and walked in their fourth Take Steps for Crohn’s
Nicholas Compagnone and Matthew Petronis received special recognition awards at the 12th Annual Graybeard Dinner Dance in January for raising over $500,000 for the Rockaway and Breezy Point communities in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy through web-based donation sites. Gregory Sapienza represented Rochester Institute of Technology in the New York State Business Competition finals in April. Gregory was a member of the team Skyvo, which presented on the topic of applications for iPads for educational use. Elvin Soto was recently selected in the 16th round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Diamondbacks. The hardhitting catcher, a first team All-Big East selection, hit .320 with six home runs and 43 RBIs for the Pittsburgh Panthers.
Class of 2012 Brian Bernardi will be coming home to New York soon, as he has recently committed to transferring to Hofstra University from SMU. Dillon Burns, who is currently playing basketball for LIU Post, was named to the 2012-2013 ECC Men’s Basketball All-Conference All-Rookie Team.
