HOW I WORK



USER CENTERED DESIGN HOLISTIC APPROACH The ideal design must always come from the user needs. If what we do is design for people, the person must be the center of the focus. In order to analyze user needs, it is necessary to be right where those needs happen, understand the context of use and be observers because insights may be found anywhere. Products must be analyzed in their context of use because the same product in a different context can be used in a different way and for a different purpose.


DESIGN THINKING


DESIGN PROCESS The first step that should be taken in the design process is to carry out a prospective analysis, try to foresee the future our business is leading to and seek the opportunities that could exist there. Posturing into hypothetical future scenarios can be risky sometimes, but it also increases the chances to succeed if the prospection is precise and proper designs are developed. Once the opportunity has been found, the business model will be designed in that direction, following a well structured and coherent design strategy. The best way to develop an effective branding strategy is to take into account all the touchpoints around the brand.

It is important to undestand that all the aspects that surround the user experience are connected to each other. When talking about UX/UI we have to understand that UX (User Experience) and UI (User Interaction) are not the same thing. UI refers to designing optimal userproduct interaction, but UX is much more than that. UX takes into account all the context of use of the product or service, the whole user experience, and it tries to design the best solutions for that experience.

Tumbodoro is a swing designed to try to prevent children from being unhealthy due to today’s problems such us bad nutrition and sedentary lifestyle. The swing includes some games that promote healthy habits in two ways: by offering some games that require physical activity and also with games that teach children which food is healthy and which is not.

Erlagune is a prospective project that aims to offer to young people a place to enjoy and interact. It has a circular interactive surface in the center of the module to promote interaction not only with the screen but also with other people. The surrounding glasses are also oled screens that allow people display what they wish. The roof is full of transparent solar panels that let the light pass through and can also work as lighting at night.

Thanks to a business proposal I made to La Cรกntara milk company, I had the lucky chance to do my first remunerated job before finishing my university studies. The packaging aims to emphasise the origin of the milk -Cantabria-, a region with best quality pasture for cattle. It also tries to show that it is a local and traditional product to reinforce closeness and good quality.

Every year, 37.3 millions of falls whose gravity require medical attention happen. It is calculated that anually 423,000 people die from falls, which is the second death cause from accidental injuries in the world. xLife Personal Airbag was conceived to reduce this pitiful statistic and offer elderly people higher autonomy as they feel safer with the airbag.

This product is an organic packaging that saves money and waste because the same packaging is used for the transportation and commercialization. This packaging also aims to save waste by re-using bags and pots instead of selling the product in individual one-use packets. The mechanism is shown on the left.

Nuts come out when both inside and outside pieces holes align.

Run & Walk is a project that tries to give a global service to the runners that want to visit the city and also to their families. Runners can take advantage of the orography of the city and their families can enjoy the city at their own pace. Both get perks from the running results of the runners and can exchange prizes for tickets to enjoy the city.

Taldeka is the new way to understand YOUR banking,

intuitive understandable fit to you Taldeka is a multi-platform banking experience designed in collaboration with Laboral Kutxa. The aim of this project is to help the customers of Laboral Kutxa manage their money. Therefore, we designed a platform that automatically divides the deposits and expenses in different groups. These divisions are shown in a clear a visual way and can be easily managed thanks to its intuitive design.

With this project I concluded my 2-years Master’s studies and internship in Alfa Hogar. The project defines the direction of Alfa brand and its strategy in the market, establishes the design strategy and applies this strategy in the design of the different touchpoints that surround Alfa. In the following pages you can find some of the products I designed following this strategic approach.

With the objective of engaging the Do It Yourself fans, Alfa created the Style Series sewing machines. These sewing machines are attractive both in the economical and in the design aspect; they are colourful and fresh to attract younger people. The leitmotiv of Style Series is “Set your own Stlye�, a claim to motivate people to personalise their clothes, be unique and show their personality through their outfit.
