BoAt sHoW Here We coMe! By land and by sea, a life on the ocean waves and a great lifestyle Scotland’s Boat Show weekend has it all

W

elcome to the largest boat show in Scotland and the biggest brokerage (pre-owned) boat show in the UK. This is where the marine leisure industry comes to do business, make no mistake. The number and quality of boats on display gives sailors from all over the UK the chance to come and see an incredible selection, meet up with old friends, make new ones and importantly new contacts with the latest and expert knowledge. It is also an event were organisations like Cruising Association sponsor a stage and speakers to share their expertise and hands-on help. These talks are a chance for newcomers to improve and experienced sailors to polish their skills. As well as boats for sale there is a host of stands from across the marine leisure industry and the canny sailors know that many of them have special offers and promotions especially for the boat show weekend. But Scotland’s Boat Show has become much more. The Kip Marina team has grown this event over the years into a unique weekend that celebrates all that’s best in life. The onshore events include cars, motor homes, holiday homes, and the lifestyle pavilion which this year is sponsored by CalMac. In there you will find an incredible range of products on sale, from hand-made artisan to luxury goods from throughout Scotland the UK. Scotland’s Boat Show also has an excellent 22

Friday October 11 Saturday 10 Sunday 13, kip Marina reputation for its food and drink pavilion. Nick Nairn will present three demonstrations on Sunday 13 and throughout the weekend the pavilion is a showcase for the catering students and tutors at West Scotland College. All that’s innovative and best about Scotland’s food and drink and produce is here in a marketplace full of people as passionate about food and drink as you are. Along with Kip Marina’s own Chartroom Bar and Restaurant there will be an outside area full of food trucks and stalls for all tastes. Now add music, entertainment, pipe bands and you can see why more than 12,000 people every year make their way – by land or sea – to Scotland’s Boat Show.
