Triumph High School is an alternative school that requires students to complete the Discovery Program successfully before being able to take classes and earn credit. The Discovery Program is a quarter-long program that teaches students about selfcontrol, the 6 Ps (prompt, prepared, polite, PMA, participate, and produce), and many other behavior-related concepts that will help them be successful in the academic world they will be entering. Students write autobiographies, role play, participate in

ropes challenge courses, and learn conflict resolution skills among other things. Successful Discovery students shared that the

best part of the program was, “bonding with classmates and learning team skills,” and one student shared that the program, “helped with my anger.”

Each quarter, the Discovery program teachers and students celebrate their success and do what is lovingly referred to as “The

Disco Walk.” Students and teachers decorate bucket hats and parade through the school to signal their readiness to enter the dominant culture (regular classes). The Quarter 3 graduates were able to enjoy their walk just before classes paused for Spring Break.

Egg Hunt at the Historic Governors’ Mansion

Young children and their parents are invited to the 14th Annual Historic Governors’ Mansion Egg Hunt, March 30, at 9:00am. For children aged 2-4, join staff and volunteers to hunt for more than 1,500 eggs “hidden” on Mansion lawns for children to find and gather. Registration Open for Girls’ Fast Pitch Softball

The City of Cheyenne Sanitation Division will resume its residential yard waste program on Monday, April 1. Residents who subscribe to curbside yard waste service can place their green lid bins out by 6:00am. There is no alley collection for this program - bins must be placed on the street. Only lawn trimmings, weeds and leaves can be placed in the curbside containers. No bags or branches are permitted. Zonta Club of Cheyenne is seeking entries from artists of all ages and style and experience for its 9th Annual Art Contest. This year’s theme is Art Against Abuse. Artists are asked to convey their unique vision of how to promote positive change given the multifaceted impact of domestic violence and human trafficking on victims, their families and our community. Submissions must be dropped off at the RE/MAX office at 4000 Central Avenue in Cheyenne no later than 4:00pm on April 1. Think about becoming a Foster Grandparent before summer school starts or for the fall of 20242025 school year.
