ABOUT THE PUBLISHING HOUSE:
Sine Qua Non publishing house was founded in mid-2010. The company’s idea which has been motivating its founders (Przemysław Romański, Łukasz Kuśnierz and Michał Rędziak) is to publish the books „with passion”. Some people are passionate about football, others love movies, while some other people are interested in contemporary art or adore reading engrossing novels. A book is the factor which helps to develop passions and share them with others. Sine Qua Non works according to these ideas. Among the books published one can find sport and music biographies, comic books, novels and other books which have been created out of passion.

BOOKS ABOUT FOOTBALL
In November 2010 we published our first book about football: “A year in paradise” by Andrés Iniesta. Since then we have published several dozen books about football. Some of them have become the bestselling books in Poland. At present we are the biggest publishing house of sport literature in the country. We have published autobiographies and officially authorized biographies of the footballers like Zlatan Ibrahimović, Leo Messi, Luis Suarez, Steven Gerrard, Andrea Pirlo, Gianluigi Buffon, Andrés Iniesta.

As a Polish partner of FC Barcelona we can be proud of the releases of official books of this Catalan sports team.
BOOKS ABOUT BASKETBALL
We are a definite leader in publishing books about basketball. We have already published popular biographies of NBA players like Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman, Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James, iconic “Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success” by coach Phil Jackson as well as books about Los Angeles Lakers and Dream Team from 1992. We are also a publisher of the first biography of a Polish basketball player, Adam Wójcik.
BOOKS ABOUT OTHER SPORT DISCIPLINES
Volleyball, cycling, boxing, jogging, skiing, motor and extreme sports. The books concerning these sport disciplines have also been published by SQN. These were not only biographies of the sportspeople like Mike Tyson, Sven Hannawald, Usain Bolt or Colin McRae, but also the books about the history of cross-country skiing or doping in cycling.
POP CULTURE
We are the kind of a publishing house which loves every novelty. We always try to be the in-thing and offer current titles to our readers. One of them is the newest biography of Queen released during the band’s concert in Poland or „The Bro Code” published during broadcasting on the Polish TV a sitcom entitled „How I Met Your Mother”.
MUSIC BIOGRAPHIES
In 2012 we published the first music biography. It turned out to be a real success and it got the fourth place on the bestselling books list in Poland. Since then we have published a lot of music biographies.
SQN IMAGINATIO
In January 2016 we called into being a new brand – SQN Imaginatio. We had published fantasy books before but due to our offer extension, we decided to create a new space for them. Ten various titles with SQN Imaginatio logo were published last year. Apart from fantasy, it is definitely perfect literature for the young adults. This year we are planning to release twenty two new novels!
POLISH FANTASY BOOKS
Our native fantasy literature is very important to us. We publish the books by popular and much loved writers. Jakub Ćwiek who became famous due to “Kłamca” (“A Liar”) series develops another fantasy series which are published by us: “Chłopcy” (“Boys”) about Peter Pan companions relocated to our world and black noir crime fiction taking place in gloomy “Grimm City”. We also publish a novel series about Nikita – a murderess of Norwegian origin who has to cope with demons from the past and the future – by Aneta Jadowska.
POLISH FANTASY BOOKS – NEW AUTHORS
We are one of three quickest developing publishing houses in Poland of the last five years and we are not afraid to invest in debutants. We have published novels by Anna Lange, Jacek Ĺ ukawski and Tomasz Marchewka. All of them were very well accepted by the media and gained a lot of faithful fans. Each of our debutants is offered a professionally prepared promotion.
POLISH PROSE
Jakub Małecki and Łukasz Orbitowski are incredibly talented writers, at first qualified as fantasy writers, at present creating novels of manners. Their books gain recognition among reviewers and the audience. “Ślady” (“Trails”) by Małecki has been nominated to a prestigious Nike 2017 Literary Award, and Orbitowski was awarded with literary award by “Polityka” in 2015 for “Inna dusza” (“The Other Soul”).
BOOKS WRITTEN BY BLOGGERS
We have shown the way of Polish bloggers, publishing the books like “Busem przez świat” (“Around the World on a Bus”) and “Mr. Vintage”, which got to the top of the bestselling books lists and lived to see the following editions and reprints. We have also published the books by other bloggers, like Charlize Mystery, Wilczo Głodna, Rafał Urbanelis and the girls from Myfitness.pl.
OUR STRENGTHS: PROMOTION
It is very important for us to promote our books in media. We constantly cooperate with Polish nationwide and local editorial offices and magazines. We care for good relations with journalists, in that our books are present in press, radio and TV. Moreover, the interviews with the authors are published in the media as well. We do not neglect the Internet. We interact with the biggest information services, such as Interia, Onet or WP. There is an active cooperation between us and portals on sports, female, male, fantasy and literary topics. Our another strength are social media. Apart from Facebook we actively promote our books on Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter. Our promotion is led in an unconventional way. We organise promotional events, which are supposed to interest the readers with the books we publish. One of the examples may be the urban games inspired by a series entitled „Endgame�. We promote our company during special events. We take an active part in fantasy festivals, sports events and book fairs. We are engaged in charity actions as well. We are looking for attractive cooperators and sponsors. It results in additional promotional benefits. Due to cooperation with brands such as Tissot or Subaru we upgrade the prestige of a given title. What is more, the sponsors offer attractive prizes, which we distribute in our popular competitions.

We are active in the Internet, especially in social media. Our Facebook profiles are followed by 48 000 readers altogether, our Twitter is observed by 3000 people and Instagram by almost 8000. We stay in touch with our readers by Snapchat as well.

We cooperate with best distributors on the book market. We are seen in the biggest internet bookshops: Aros, Bonito, Tak Czytam, niePrzeczytane, Tania Książka, Dadada, Empik, Matras, Allegro. Our books are available in large area shops; as well as during “quick shopping”, at specialist shops, petrol stations, art galleries and fitness clubs.
We are owners of Internet shops, which gain new clients every year. LaBotiga.pl is the biggest sports bookshop in Poland.

The grey and yellow cover of the book is very well chosen and a destroyed burning block of flats is somehow a quintessence of “Wigilijne psy” (“Christmas Hounds”).
