h my, February is here. So I might as well ask you now, Will you be my Valentine? Please oh please? Now that we have that out of the way, let’s take a look at what this month brings our way. See page 8.
February 2nd is Groundhog Day. Commemorated when a famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, emerges from his burrow and looks for his shadow. The tradition goes that this day, is used to help determine how many weeks of winter might be left. Sunday the 2nd is Super Bowl 54. Get out the chips, dip, sandwiches, beer and whatever you celebrate with. The 9th will be the Academy Awards. The Academy Awards (or Oscars) is an annual award ceremony dedicated to honoring the cinematic achievements of the film industry. On Friday, February 14th, we will celebrate Valentine’s Day. We have put to print our annual “Tunnel of Love” within this issue. It’s poems you, our readers have submitted as you have done for many years. Take a look. President’s Day is February 17th, a Monday and a day off for most workers. initially celebrating Washington’s birthday we now celebrate them all.
