Airspace Broadcasting Review For Proserpine Airport
In 2022, the airspace broadcasting area around Proserpine Airport was reviewed by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).
This review is used to improve pilot safety when communicating with each other in the air.

This airspace broadcast area around Proserpine Airport is called the Proserpine Group Broadcast Area and the consultation period determined that the area needed to be expanded to the south, and that the radio frequency needed to be changed and ‘sky lanes’ created, so that pilots can fly along and bypass the Proserpine Airport and arriving and departing aircrafts.
Following this consultation period, CASA will now conduct a formal review of the airspace.
Jeremy Westell of the Office of Airspace Regulation will be on site in Proserpine and Airlie Beach all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday June 16 to 18 for members of the community to provide feedback.
