Ryan Dorchester is in his second year as the Coordinator of Recruiting Operations within the West Virginia football program. In his role, Dorchester serves in an administrative capacity, overseeing the operational aspects of football recruiting. He organizes the day-to-day recruitment of studentathletes, including building the program’s data bank of prospects and compiles information and video files. He already has made an impact on the Mountaineer recruiting efforts as this year’s class was ranked No. 25 nationally by rivals and among the Top 30 by other recruiting services, the highest in several years. He is the liaison with the University admissions office, is the primary contact with the athletic compliance office regarding recruiting, oversees the correspondence with prospects and manages the planning of on-campus official and unofficial recruiting visits. Dorchester coordinates the coaches’ travel schedule for recruiting and oversees and organizes the program’s records, checklists, calendars, research and recruiting boards. He also coordinates NCAA and Big 12 Conference rules testing for WVU, compliance reviews and meetings for the football staff with the school’s compliance department. In his current position, he builds and maintains relationships with high school and junior college coaches to advance recruiting, assists with the planning of the annual clinic for high school coaches and coordinates the summer jobs program for the student-athletes. Dorchester worked with the Mountaineer football program since 2004, when he joined the managerial staff as a student equipment manager and served in that capacity for four years. Since then, he has been a graduate assistant for recruiting, assisting with the day-to-day operations of the program’s recruiting efforts. Dorchester earned his bachelor’s degree in history from West Virginia in 2008 and his master’s degree in higher educational leadership in 2010.

QUINCY WILSON

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL OPERATIONS

Former Mountaineer great running back Quincy Wilson is in his second year as the assistant director of football operations. Wilson assists the director of football operations with the daily activities of the football office and serves as a program liaison with compliance, academic support and residence life. He came to West Virginia in 2012, after serving as the marketing sales manager for State Industrial Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio, since 2010. ASSISTANT ATHLETIC DIRECTOR FOR ACADEMIC SUPPORT

Curtis Jones is in his second year as the assistant athletic director for academic support. He came to WVU in 2012 after serving as the assistant athletic director for football academic services at Texas for three years. Jones administers the operation of the student services division and oversees the academic staff, assuring a commitment to academic excellence. He works with student-athletes to establish academic goals and then organizes and implements programs to assist the student-athletes in meeting those goals. Jones serves as the liaison to the University’s academic community, provost’s office, admissions’ office, registrar’s office and disability services. He assists the student-athletes in identifying educational and career interests, selecting classes and determining academic majors. Jones also provides guidance to the studentathletes in meeting their educational goals, through monitoring and guiding during study hall, tutoring and assisting with test preparation, study skills and time management. Alex Hammond is in his third year on the Mountaineer football staff as the director of football operations. He came to West Virginia in August 2011 as the director of recruiting operations, before moving into his current role as the chief of staff for the program, providing direct support to the head coach. He handles the department budget, daily schedules, travel schedules, professional scouts, facility scheduling, coaches’ clinics, training table, scholarship disbursement, ticket allocation, preseason planning and bowl preparation. He oversees the equipment department, the video staff and the recruiting office. He also administers the department budget and serves as the staff liaison to the Big 12 office, football alumni, the media and WVU’s 16 other varsity sports. Hammond came to West Virginia after serving as the associate director of amateurism certification at the NCAA from 2009-11. In his position, he was responsible for educating elite athletes, member institutions and conferences on NCAA legislation, served as the NCAA liaison to the Big 12 and Atlantic Coast Conferences on issues regarding amateurism and conducted amateurism reviews on high profile student-athletes. Prior to his tenure with the NCAA, Hammond was an associate in the international sports group at the law firm of Baker and Daniels from 2008-09. He advised multi-national companies on global business operations and drafted contracts for corporate mergers and acquisitions. Hammond also held several positions working for the United States federal government (2003-06), serving with the office of the General Counsel for the Department of Defense, a special assistant to Ambassador Randall Tobias for the US Department of State and as a public affairs officer and legislative assistant at the White House for the National Drug Control Policy. Hammond graduated from the University of Texas in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in government and earned his juris doctorate from the Northwestern University School of Law in 2008. While a student at Texas, he interned at the White House for the office of public affairs and was the executive director of the Longhorn student body, the highest appointed student position at the University. He represented the student body in front of the Texas State Legislature. Hammond, a native of Indianapolis, Ind., is married to the former Susan Swift of Atmore, Ala. She serves as the director of donor relations and special events for the Mountaineer Athletic Club.

Wilson works with the academic support staff in tracking and counseling student athletes and also provides player agent education, contributes to LifeSkills programming and assists the studentathletes with recognizing opportunities for University services and resources. He organizes preseason training camp in regards to operations such as daily meal schedules and provides security and game officials for practices and scrimmages. Wilson assists with community relations programs, on-campus recruiting and the annual high school coaches’ clinic. He administers the professional football education program and assists the student-athletes, who have professional potential, with the exceptional student-athlete disability insurance program and with the college advisory committee. Wilson was a four-year letterwinner at running back for the Mountaineers from 1999-03, finishing with 2,608 career rushing yards, ranking No. 5 WVU’s career rushing chart. He registered 901 yards and six touchdowns as a junior and 1,380 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior. Wilson was a third team All-American by the Associated Press and was one of eight semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award. He was drafted in the seventh round of the 2004 NFL draft by the Atlanta Falcons and played three years for the Cincinnati Bengals from 2004-08. He played one season for the Berlin Rebels of the German Football League in 2010. Wilson, a native of Weirton, W.Va., and the son of former NFL linebacker Otis Wilson and Kyle Wilson, earned his bachelor’s degree in coaching education from West Virginia in 2003.
