The Summer 2023 issue of the WVSOM Magazine explores the role women play in osteopathic medicine and examines the challenges that historically have slowed gender equity among physicians. The feature story also celebrates some of the women who have overcome societal challenges and become leaders in health care — particularly at WVSOM, where the institution has made strides in the gender balance among its administration and faculty.
The publication also highlights some of the women among WVSOM’s staff whose achievements have been recognized, and includes two stories about alumnae whose careers show the variety of options available to today’s physicians, in addition to two profiles of graduates whose futures look bright.
