In two years at Washburn Dan Buie became the school’s third leading scorer at the time, earned two MIAA MVP honors and was named an AllAmerican by three different organizations … in 1996-97, his senior year, he averaged 24.4 points a game and 9.2 rebounds to earned Bulletin first team All-America status … the year before that he scored 25.1 a game and earned NABC and CoSIDA second team honors … Buie owns the third and fourth highest single-season scoring totals at Washburn with 805 points his senior year and 679 points his junior year … he also holds the school record with 45 points in a game in 1996 … Buie is the school’s record holder in career scoring by a two-year player, he is second in career blocks with 96 and he is third with 442 made free throws … he finished his career 10 rebounds short of becoming the only player to score 1,000 points with 500 rebounds in two seasons.
In four years at Washburn Ewan Auguste was a two-time MIAA MVP, three-time team MVP and a three-year all-conference player … on top of all that he earned six different All-America awards and finished fifth in school history in scoring with 1,636 points … Auguste averaged 15.5 points a game and 7.6 rebounds in 2000-01, his senior year and earned first team All-America honors from three different organizations while leading the Ichabods to the NCAA National Championship game in Bakersfield, Calif. … he year before that he scored 16.9 a game and earned two different All-America honors … Auguste is one of four Ichabods to score 500 or more points in two seasons and he is the career leader in blocks … his 888 total rebounds is third most in school history … he was inducted into the Washburn Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011.

First team All-American Clarence Tyson was a two-year member of the Ichabods basketball team from 1992 to 1994 … he was inducted into the Washburn Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005 … in his two years with Washburn he helped lead the team to back-to-back NCAA Elite Eight appearances … his senior year he earned first team All-America and first team all-MIAA honors, as well as all-region and team MVP honors … Tyson finished his career with 982 points and 563 rebounds, both among the top for two-year players when he finished … in his senior year he scored 663 points, then the fourth highest single-season total at Washburn … he finished his two years averaging 15.1 points per game and 8.7 rebounds … during the 2004-05 basketball season Tyson was named to the MIAA’s Silver Anniversary All-Tournament Team … Tyson played professionally in Australia and in the International Basketball Association.
