Jeff Schwinn begins his sixth season as a fulltime assistant at Washburn after spending the 2011 season as a graduate assistant coaching the linebackers. Schwinn will coordinate the Ichabods’ offensive unit while also coaching the wide receivers after after spending coaching the running backs the last two seasons. He has coached 14 all-MIAA selections and two all-region picks at Washburn. The former Kansas State quarterback spent four seasons as the head coach at Chapman High School As a player at Kansas State, Schwinn was recognized for his contributions and earned 4 team awards.

During his five-year career, the Wildcats appeared in 5 straight bowl games and won the 2003 Big 12 Championship. He graduated from Kansas State with dual bachelor degrees in social science in 2004 and education in 2006. Schwinn is continuing to pursue his master’s degree in educational leadership. He lives in Auburn, Kan., with his wife Alisha and their two sons Brody and Brixton and a daughter Brynlee.
