2014-15 NOTES COUGARS CAPITALIZE AT HOME: In the Cougars’ third tournament of the year, WSU welcomed a talented, Pac-12-filled field to Pullman…redshirt-senior Sang Lee fired a three-round 204 to tie for first place and earn his first career title…Lee’s score ties for the second-best three-round score in school history…in the second round Lee carded a 65 to lead WSU to a team score of 270…the mark ties for the best single-round team score in school history. WSU STOCK IMPROVES IN STOCKTON: To close the fall season, Washington State traveled to Stockton, Calif., to compete in the Pacific Invitational…the Cougars distanced themselves in the final round of the event, finishing 7-under (211) in the final round to earn their lone team title of the season…the title gave WSU Head Coach Garrett Clegg his fifth tournament title in four years. 2014-15 NOTES OMELIA LEADS COUGS AT MACKENZIE INVITE: Junior Evan Omelia, a native of Watford, England, fired a personal-best 64 in the opening round of the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, Oct. 13…the score ties for the second-lowest in school history and is the best score since redshirt-senior Sang Lee’s 63 at the 2012 Dash Thomas Memorial that set the school record. COUGARS WITH LOW SEASON AVERAGES: Three golfers from the 2014-15 team finished with a scoring average below 73.00… redshirt-senior Sang Lee, freshman Derek Bayley, and senior Michael Anderson each averaged less than 73 strokes per round… Lee finished with a scoring average of 72.17 to lead the team...the average is the best since 2009-10 and the fourth-best season scoring average in school history…Bayley owned an average of 72.36, the fifth-best average in program history…Anderson finished the season tied for the sixth-best scoring average in WSU history at 72.52 strokes per round. Head Coach Fourth Season

In his fourth season at Washington State, Clegg led the Cougars to a title at the Pacific Invitational, WSU’s fifth victory in four seasons. Clegg also guided redshirt-senior Sang Lee to his first-career victory. Lee tied for first place at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate. In 2014-15, Clegg and Washington State welcomed the Pac-12 Conference to Pullman, Wash., for the 2015 Pac-12 Men’s Golf Championships.The event marked the first time in conference history that the championships were held in Pullman. Under the guidance of Clegg, freshman Derek Bayley maintained a scoring average of 72.36, the lowest by a freshman in school history. Clegg also oversaw Lee’s success as he averaged 72.17 strokes per round, the fourth-best scoring average in WSU history.

named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar. Clegg arrived in Pullman after serving four seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Washington. During his time at UW, the men’s program captured back-to-back Pacific-10 Conference titles (2009 & 2010) and concluded both seasons with fifth-place finishes at the NCAA Championships. Washington advanced to the NCAA Regionals each of his four seasons and three times qualified for the NCAA Championships. While at Washington he helped mentor All-Americans NickTaylor, Richard Lee, Darren Wallace and Chris Williams. In his four seasons he was involved in all areas of the program including coaching, recruiting, fund-raising and tournament operations with a special emphasis on administrative duties.

In 2013-14, the Cougars notched two tournament victories and a runner-up finish. Senior Blake Snyder was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention as he finished tied for fourth at the Pac-12 Championships, the best finish by a Cougar at the conference championships in school history. Snyder became the first Washington State men’s golf student-athlete to garner an all-conference award since 2010.

Clegg is a former professional and collegiate golfer who played collegiately at Minnesota for two years where he was a part of the 2002 NCAA championship team before transferring to Utah for his final two seasons. A 2004 graduate of Utah, Clegg was a two-time All-Mountain West Conference selection and placed third in the conference championships in 2003. During his career with the Utes, he won the 2003 Nevada Wolfpack Invitational and the 2003 UC Riverside Invitational.

During the 2012-13 campaign, the Cougars provided Clegg his first-career victory when they captured the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate on their home course in September. Before the season was over, Washington State added another victory and three other finishes in the top-three.

Clegg played in the 2003 U.S. Amateur and advanced to the second round of the 2002 U.S. Public Links tournament. As a professional, he played the 2007 season in the NationwideTour after finishing fifth in the second stage of the PGATour Qualifying School.

During his four years at WSU, Clegg has also led the Cougars to success in the classroom with 10 Pac-12 All-Academic selections. During the 2013-14 season, Michael Anderson was

Assistant Coach Second Season

Dustin White joined the Washington State University men’s golf staff as an assistant coach in January of 2014. In his first complete season with WSU, White helped the Cougars earn a title at the Pacific Invitational, WSU’s fifth victory in four seasons. White assisted in the success of redshirt-senior Sang Lee, who averaged the fourth-best season scoring average in WSU history. Freshman Derek Bayley also showed growth under the guidance of White, with the lowest scoring average by a freshman in school history. During his time at WSU, White has also overseen the academic success of the Cougars with five Pac-12 All-Academic selections. During the 2013-14 season, Michael Anderson was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar. In White’s first season in Pullman, senior Blake Snyder was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention as he finished tied for fourth at the Pac-12 Championships, the best finish by a Cougar at the conference championships in school history.

White returned to his alma mater after being a standout for the Cougars from 1999-2003. He was a three-time All-Pac-10 selection, including a first team honoree in 2002.That season, his junior campaign, he set a school record with eight top 10 finishes, earned his first-tournament victory and won a national player of the week honor. As a sophomore, White began the season with a school-record tying 65 at the Northwest Classic in Corvallis, Ore. He earned one of his school record 17-career top 10 finishes at the event. He placed in the top 25 of a tournament 27 times, second in Cougar history. A native of Pueblo, Colo., White was a winner on the GatewayTour in 2004, 2006 and 2007. He played on the NationwideTour in 2005, 2009 and 2010. His career highlight came when he qualified for and participated in the 2006 U.S. Open.
