Olga Pericet Company with Jesús Fernández Presented by Flamenco Edition

WORLD PREMIERE

For the first time two of Spain’s most celebrated flamenco dancers perform together. Fernandez’s strength, musicality and artistry blends with Pericet’s supreme delicacy, to generate a powerful masterpiece that celebrates the best of modern flamenco.

Through an original score, the dance takes the audience on a personal and intimate journey to a world in which distinctive and contrasting emotions are expressed through different styles (palos). With rawness and elegant sophistication, the performance is a true tribute to flamenco tradition, with a contemporary language.

Morphed re-defines what Indian dance can offer. Created by British dancer Subhash Viman in collaboration with Indian choreographer Veena Basavarajiah, this solo marries hip-hop, urban and contemporary dance styles with Indian classical styles, Bharatanatyam and Kathak. Morphed presents the many faces of the Indian male deities merged with the observed movements and gestures of spitting and nose wiping loiterers. It talks about class and prejudice with a touch of humour.
