Jefferson Express is a mobile computer lab complete with 15 laptops, an instructor and the ability to set up at any location. By partnering with local libraries, community organizations and businesses, workshops can be offered that benefit community members in Jefferson and Lewis counties. Businesses can arrange for custom training as well. Training can take place in your office or at a location convenient for you and your employees. Employment Readiness has partnered with Jefferson Express to offer Soldier, Spouses, Family Members and DoD Civilians free computer training workshops! Sign up is required and space is limited. All workshops located at Army Community Service, 4330 Conway Road Fort Drum May 30 - Introduction to PowerPoint - This workshop is designed for those with no PowerPoint experience. Participants will learn how to create a presentation, create and edit slides, insert clip art, work with views and run the slide show. June 4 - Basic Excel - This workshop is designed for those with little or no Excel experience. Learn how to use Microsoft Excel, manipulate cells, add graphics, use charts, sort, alphabetize, use simple formulas to analyze data and go over the basic Excel Ribbon. June 27 - Introduction to the Internet and Searching - Participants will learn about basic Web surfing, to use search engines effectively, to be able to locate specific Web sites, about Internet safety and security, bookmarking and adding favorites, and about basic Internet terminology. August 29 - Intro to Microsoft Word - Participants will learn how to use Word to create a document that effectively and professionally represents what they want to articulate. Notice must be given during business hours Monday - Friday. There is no refund after the first day of the workshop. The 24-hour refund notice does not apply to online trainings. The college reserves the right to make faculty substitutions at its discretion. Time and date changes and other rescheduling may be made if necessary. The college also reserves the right to cancel any under-enrolled kids camp and return all fees. Register early! In the event of an emergency campus closing call 315-786-6565. Participants are officially enrolled when we receive the registration with payment. We will only contact you if there is a change in your workshop. If you are not contacted, your workshop will meet as scheduled. Please make a note of your workshop date, time and location.
