Moving On Up

Tony Mansoorian has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Tony has worked for Bellows since 2000, starting as a field engineer and advancing to project engineer in 2001.

When Bellows opened its Medical Center Renovation Team (MCRT) office in 2009, Tony was selected to be its first Director of Operations. In 2012, Tony was promoted to Executive Vice President.

Tommy Lee has been promoted to Vice President of Safety.

Tommy joined Bellows in 1981 and has been the Corporate Safety Director for over 30 years as well as serving as Chairman of the National Safety Committee of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America from 2010-2014.

Ray Mancias has been promoted to Vice President. Ray began his career at Bellows in 1996 working in the field on a concrete placement crew alongside his grandfather.

Since then, he has worked as a field office manager, estimator, project engineer, project manager and most recently, project executive.

Nick Mathews will continue to serve Bellows’ Medical Center Renovation Team (MCRT) as Director of Operations. Opened in 2009, the stand-alone office is dedicated to renovation/expansion projects in the Texas Medical Center. Nick joined the Bellows team in 2006 and previously worked as a project manager.

BLVD Place, Phase II stands prominently on 20 acres in the heart of Houston at the intersection of Post Oak Boulevard and San Felipe. The sleek, mixed-use development boasts 92,000 SF of office space, 12,500 SF of restaurant space, and 60,000 SF of luxury shop space. Its prestigious address provides clients and customers an office and retail experience that surpasses all others. Each building’s signature floor-to-ceiling glass design with custom frit-pattern infuses natural light into the spaces creating a stimulating and productive environment. The design team from AECOM extended the city roadway grid through the project to improve vehicle circulation around the site and provided pedestrian connections. Bellows executed this design with minimal disruption to the surrounding area.

Referenced as a symbol of Houston’s strong economy after weathering a very difficult time frame, the complex offers highquality office space and top notch stores. Current tenants include Frost Bank Regional Headquarters, True Foods Kitchen, North Restaurant, Pinkberry, The Eye Gallery, Peska, Posh by Aveda, Façade, Resolute Fitness, and the 52,000-sf Whole Foods Market. Whole Foods Market has underground parking equipped with an escalator which brings customers up into the store and also a moving sidewalk which takes them back down into the garage with their carts. BLVD Place is the perfect upscale match to this site’s premiere Galleria-area location and has set the bar for other mixed-use developments.

Project In Progress

Phillips 66 New Headquarters Campus Construction has commenced on the Phillips 66 Corporate Headquarters, a brand new campus comprised of two parallel towers measuring 13 and 15 stories respectively, and parking garage on 14.2 acres in the Westchase District of Houston.

Phillips 66’s Houston employees are currently split among three separate sites. Phillips 66 plans to relocate all Houston employees to the new campus upon the development’s completion. Phillips 66’s spokesperson, Dean Acosta, commented on the goal of creating a centralized environment, “It will be a great place to bring all Houston employees to one campus and to continue building a high performing team.” Located off of Beltway 8 between Westheimer Road and Briar Forest Drive, the campus will accommodate over 1,800 employees and include a café, fitness center, credit union, and brand new training center. The three-year undertaking is W. S. Bellows’ largest project to date, employing 1,000 workers and 100 subcontractors. The development is predicted to have a long-lasting positive effect on the economy of the area. The campus is intended to achieve at least a LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Safety First

Bellows Receives First Place National AGC Construction Safety Excellence Award Bellows was honored to receive this year’s First Place Award in the 200,001 – 450,000 man hour building division at the Associated General Contractors of America’s (AGC) National Convention. The AGC’s Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA) program is the industry’s elite safety excellence program for companies of all sizes and occupational divisions. The CSEA is bestowed to companies that excel at safety and health performance.

The national judging criteria included: overview of the company safety plan; increased employee involvement in safety, new safety programs, procedures or resources; management’s commitment to safety; specific unique activities the company does or provides to promote safety; and no fatality or multi-catastrophic injuries during the past year.
