Thoughts from BILLY THE CAT What is happening to our economy? I took a walk down Voortrekker road the other day and was sad to see how many shops come and go in such a short time period. Many are calling it the “Great Recession�. I see people from all walks of life suffering under the constant hike of prices in all aspects of life. I also see more and more people having to do all sorts of things to make extra money just to survive. Went down to the shop the other day and as I was getting into my car I turned to give the guardjie a little something as I always try to do if I am able. I was horrified to see someone that was in school with me, he pretended not to recognize me and later I was glad for that, I am ashamed to say, but what could I have done for him? I to am struggling to make ends meet. We often take the street people or guardjies for granted cause we don't know them but they also have lives and dreams. Have something to whisper in my ear?
