Boys Without Names Blog Writing Project Advanced English 6 Marking Period 6

What It Is: As we finish Boys Without Names, we are going to respond to the text in a new way. You will have the choice to respond to your reading using the genre of your choice and the writing style of your choice. These responses will be featured on our class blog at https://kidblog.org/class/advanced-english-6. Your work will count in the writing process grade (30% of your total grade) and in the summative assessment category (20% of your total grade). How It Works: Using a template I will provide you, you will choose 2 different categories to write within in the next coming weeks. In order to join, you must visit the class URL and then click “Join.” I will help you sign up and teach you how to post your writing in this space. We will also have an opportunity to respond to each other’s work in a respectful and helpful way. Possible Writing Categories: ➔ Literary Elements ➔ Stand Up For a Cause ➔ Curiosity Mini-Research Project ➔ Creative Response to Text You can also propose your own genre of writing or writing project. However, all submissions must be through the class blog. You have the option when publishing your posts if they are public/private. Weekly Writing Plan/Project(s): 1. Fill out the pre-writing template and turn in on time. 2. Complete and post your writing projects by the deadline. This means you need to be on task and using your time with passion and purpose. 3. Complete a self-assessment/evaluation of your work (see me for the template) 4. Provide constructive and helpful feedback or comments to peers on their projects (I’ll give you sentence starters to do this task).
