EMPLOYEE PAID TIME OFF POLICY

INTRODUCTION

Write On, Door County supports the well being of staff members through a paid time off program to provide a base of paid time away from work for personal needs.

Personal Time Off (PTO) is based on the January 1 - December 31 calendar year and is based on full-time employment, defined as 35 or more hours per week year round.

VACATION: The Managing Director and Artistic Director receive 18 days of vacation per calendar year and may carry over 5 days that must be used within the following year. Directors are to work with each other concerning vacation time to ensure operations of the organization are not interrupted. Time off use will be tracked via reporting use to the WODC payroll administrator.

All other staff receive 10 days vacation. The first five days earned after six months employment, the second five earned after 12 months employment.

*Part-time Employees are not eligible for PTO

SICK LEAVE/PERSONALTIME

All employees receive 5 paid personal/sick days per year and 8 paid holidays: Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. If any of these days fall on a Saturday, the paid holiday will be Friday. If any of these days fall on a Sunday, the paid holiday will be Monday.

UNUSED VACATION TIME UPON TERMINATION

Upon termination, employees who provide a written two-week notice and work 10 business days after the two-week notice is provided will be paid for unused vacation. If the organization terminates employment for cause, unused vacation is forfeited. Unused vacation taken but not earned will be deducted from an employee’s final check.

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE

Employees may take up to five days bereavement leave with pay in the event of a death in the employment’s immediate family (spouse/ life partner, child, or parent) and three days for others close to them.
