In keeping with the policy of maintaining the highest standards of conduct and ethics, Write On, Door County (“WODC”) will investigate complaints of suspected fraudulent or dishonest use or misuse of its resources or property by staff, Board members, consultants, or volunteers, This policy is also intended to encourage Board member, staff (paid and volunteer) and others, to report suspected or actual occurrence(s) of illegal, unethical or inappropriate events (behaviors or practices) without retribution.

Staff, board members, consultants, and volunteers are encouraged to report suspected fraudulent or dishonest conduct or other illegal, unethical or inappropriate behaviors or practices, pursuant to the procedures set forth below. This policy supplements, and does not replace, any procedures required by law, regulation, or funding source requirements.

Reporting. A person’s concerns about possible fraudulent or dishonest use or misuse of WODC resources or property, or other illegal, unethical or inappropriate behaviors or practices, may be reported to any of the following WODC executives at any time: Managing Director, Artistic Director, Board President, or Board Vice-President. Alternatively, to facilitate reporting of suspected violations where the reporter wishes to remain anonymous, a written statement may be submitted to one of the individuals listed above.

Investigation. All relevant matters, including suspected but unproved matters, will be promptly reviewed and analyzed, with documentation of the receipt, retention, investigation and treatment of the complaint. The initial review will be conducted by the Managing Director and the Artistic Director, unless one of them is allegedly involved in the misconduct, in which case the report shall be reviewed by only one of them. (If both of them are alleged to be involved, the report shall go directly to the Board President). Appropriate corrective action will be taken, if necessary, and findings may be communicated to the reporting person if appropriate. Investigations may be conducted by independent persons such as auditors and/or attorneys. Investigators will endeavor to maintain appropriate confidentiality so as to protect the privacy of the person making the complaint, but confidentiality is not guaranteed. At the conclusion of each investigation, a written report of the outcome of the investigation shall be prepared and delivered to the Board of Directors.

No Retaliation. No staff, board member, consultant, or volunteer who in good faith reports suspected fraudulent or dishonest use or misuse of WODC resources or property, or complains of other illegal, unethical or inappropriate behaviors or practices at WODC shall suffer harassment,
