Should you get a presidential physical? By Elizabeth Cohen (CNN) http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/03/18/executive.physicals/index.html

President Obama's annual physical in February included blood pressure, cholesterol, and heart rate checks -- tests familiar to any of us who receives a regular check-up. But take a close look at the report from his personal physician, Dr. Jeffrey Kuhlman, and you'll see the president received two top-of-the-line, hightech tests, CT scans of his colon and his coronary arteries, you most likely won't be getting when you show up at your doctor's office this year. If the head of the free world gets these tests, should you? The answer depends on whom you ask. Can you afford these tests? That depends on how much money you have in the bank. Neither of these tests is part of a standard annual physical, so your insurance company likely probably won't pay for them.

Automotive Newz: All newz related to the car word, what's new, what's hot, what's fast, what's slow, what's broke.

2010 Lingenfelter Chevrolet Camaro SS vs. 2010 Roush Ford Mustang Stage 3 - Comparison Tests The Lingenfelter Camaro SS meets the Roush Mustang Stage 3 BY ROBERT RICH, PHOTOGRAPHY BY MARC URBANO http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/comparisons/10q1/2010_lingenfelter_chevrolet_cam aro_ss_vs._2010_roush_ford_mustang_stage_3-comparison_tests

Even though the auto industry is sputtering—along with the rest of the economy—there remains a cadre of horsepower junkies who always want more than the factory has delivered. The recent arrivals of a resurrected Camaro and a new Mustang have stoked this group’s desire for more tireobliterating thrust. Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE) exists to satisfy such primal cravings. LPE has built a Camaro SS with its $10,995 TVS2300 kit, essentially a Magnuson/Eaton supercharger with high-flow fuel injectors, a cold-air induction system, a voltage-boosted fuel pump, and a recalibrated engine-management system. Though the engine is internally unchanged, the system’s 9 psi of boost is good for 570 horsepower.

2010 Aston Martin DBS Carbon Black Special Edition A not-so-basic black version of a not-so-basic Aston Martin. BY STEVE SILER http://www.caranddriver.com/news/car/10q1/2010_aston_martin_dbs_carbon_black_speci al_edition-car_news

Aston Martin doesn’t have to do much to dress up a space aside from bringing a car or three. Starting this month, Aston is doing just that to supply some particularly sexy furnishings for a series of luxury events across the nation, hosted by audio partner Bang & Olufsen. Specifically, it has supplied two examples of its most dapper DBS flagship yet, the new DBS Carbon Black special edition, to be put on display and used for demonstration. This is the first time the DBS Carbon Black will be seen in America: Its world reveal happened late last year in England, where, incidentally, it was joined by a matching Carbon Black edition of Aston’s smaller, faster V-12 Vantage, which, is a car we Yankees can’t get in any color yet.

2010 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG by MotorWeek TV

http://www.mpt.org/motorweek/reviews/rt2929a.shtml

AMG has been the official super tuner for Mercedes-Benz cars for nearly 25 years. Yet, in all that time, they had to put their stamp on cars initially built somewhere else. Well, that's now changed. This E63 AMG is the first Mercedes-Benz sedan to be totally assembled under AMG's roof. It's an almost hand-built wonder, and as soon as we got our hands on one, we steered to the racing circuit we know best. As soon as we checked tire pressures, torqued lug nuts, and topped-off fluids, we began what turned out to be an exhilarating track session with the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. Its superb combination of normally-aspirated power and road gripping prowess belies any thoughts of it's two-ton plus curb weight.

6 job search mistakes in a recession By Paul Powers, CareerBuilder.com http://www.cnn.com/2010/LIVING/worklife/03/22/cb.job.search.mistakes/index.html?hpt= Mid

In any economic climate, job hunting is nobody's idea of fun. And with the growing number of folks hitting the bricks these days, it seems the task is getting even harder. But that's not precisely true, because the actual job-hunting strategies and techniques remain the same in any climate. What is bothersome, however, is that the process is likely to take longer. This leads to increased stress: financial stress, physical stress, emotional stress and family stress.

8 very rare (and very expensive) video games By Rob Lammle, Mental Floss http://www.cnn.com/2010/LIVING/03/20/mf.rich.off.video.games/index.html

If you've ever collected baseball cards, comic books, stamps, or maybe those limited edition commemorative plates, you understand the concept of the "Holy Grail" item. It's that last, hard-to-find, incredibly rare, usually expensive piece that you have to have before you can officially say your collection is complete. If you're a collector of vintage home video game cartridges (or "carts"), sometimes that can mean paying a pretty penny for the pièce de rÊsistance.

Is voice becoming the new text (again)? By John D. Sutter, CNN http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/03/19/voice.recognition/index.html

On a recent episode of the TV show "Modern Family," a character named Mitchell gets in his car and does something that's frustratingly familiar for early adopters of technology: He tries to operate the machine by talking to it. "CD player: next track," he says. "Say a command," a robotic voice responds. "CD player: NEXT. TRACK," he says, clearly annoyed. "Air conditioner on." "Dammit!" The idea that people should be able to talk to computers, and that the computers should understand what we're saying, has been coming in and out of vogue since the 1970s. The technology never really went mainstream, though, and to this day, it's often talked about as a joke. In recent months, however -- despite the pop-culture parodies and the increasing popularity of the text message -- researchers say voice-activated technologies have entered a renaissance of sorts.
