What is C#? • In the year 2000, C# was developed by Microsoft. It is a multiparadigm general purpose programming language. Like other languages, many versions have been added in C#; a recent version in C# is C# 7.3. C# is a type-safe object-oriented language that is used for developing different applications such as client-server applications, XML web services, and windows client applications.
C# Syntax • C# syntax is highly expressive and has the similarity of other C-style languages such as C, C++, and Java. • At the end of a statement semicolons are used. To express a group statement, curly brackets are used. As statements are grouped into methods, methods consist of classes, which group into different classes and further into namespaces. • For assigning the variables in C# languages, the “=” is used, and for comparison, “==” is used.

Modern approach • C# is a very young language and follows the modern approach for the development of scalable and robust applications.
