Professional experience of teaching in school is one of parameters that influence the level of teacher salary. Thus, the greater the experience, the greater is the teacher’s salary. More than half of teachers in Russian schools have professional experience of more than 20 years (figure 3.8). Moreover, almost 20 percent of them have reached pension age (figure 3.9). These factors increase wage funds and overall government financing in education. Figure 3.9. Distribution of teaching staff by gender shows absolute percentage superiority of females—9 out of 10 teachers working in Russian schools are women (figure 3.10).
