Chapbooks: From Inspiration to Marketing with Heidi Greco and S.R. Duncan

There’s more than one way of getting your work “out there,” and a chapbook may be just the means you’re looking for. Join two experienced chapbookers for a handson, how-to introduction. There’s more than one way of assembling a chapbook, and several ways to bind and finish them. This session goes through those elements and more—you’ll learn about ISBNs and even get tips on how to promote and sell your chapbook. To register, email admin1@rebuscreative.com. Heidi Greco lives in Surrey, where she works as a writer and editor. She has a special affinity for chapbooks and has amassed a small collection of them. One of her favourites among her own publications is A: The Amelia Poems (Lipstick Press), a chapbook of speculative poems about Amelia Earhart. S.R. Duncan is a producer, publicist, writer, and poet. He was long-time owner of Pink Flamingo Works, a graphic design and small press publishing house specializing in chapbooks and promotional material for limited budgets. His broadcasting credits include CKNW, CiTR, Shaw TV, CJSF, and Vancouver CO-OP radio, where he produced a weekly radio show called Wax Poetic for 12 years. Duncan has blazed a unique trail as a Vancouver arts community builder and a mentor to dozens of artists and small non-profits.
