ayfield High School junior Bryce Puckett fits right in at WK&T, where he is learning about operations at the telecommunications company and combining that information with his love of computer technology. He is one of several interns working at WK&T through a joint venture between WK&T and the Four Rivers Foundation. The interns — students from the Mayfield/Graves County Area Technology Center, along with Graves County and Fulton County high schools — gain real work experience that helps prepare them for a career after high school. Dual enrollment credits are expected to be offered in the fall. Puckett also attends the Mayfield/ Graves County ATC, where he learned about the internship program and takes internet technology classes. Fulton County students attend the Four Rivers Career Academy in Hickman and take IT classes there. The internship program gives Puckett an opportunity to apply customer service skills utilizing computer technology. “It has definitely helped me improve my communication skills,” he says. He plans to go to college and study in the computer science field. “I love dealing with computers,” Puckett says. “That’s what I’m passionate about.” WK&T Telecommunications Cooperative
