During this week, I began to read Death Blossoms Reflections From A Prisoner of Conscience, written by Mumia Abu-Jamal. When I first saw the cover of the book, I remember it looked interesting and the cover art of the book really stuck out to me. After reading the first couple of pages, I took time to meditate and really think about my place in the world. I thought about my hopes, dreams, and my future. The preface of this book really made me think about how important our lives are and how it is possible for them to end a lot sooner than they should. I always thought about meditating, but I could never fully clear my head to completely relax. After reading some of the words that Mumia Abu-Jamal wrote, I decided to truly clear my head and take that time for myself. Taking my future into consideration really helped me to focus on the steps that I need to take to get there and where I have to start. I am really thankful to be reading such inspiring works that help me to think a lot more about myself and my life.
