In Linda Bailey and Mélanie Watt’s newest books, two very different protagonists look to fulfill their destiny. In Bailey’s When Santa was a Baby, an odd ball baby boy embraces the need to give gifts of love at a young age. Another destiny is fulfilled in Watt’s Bug in a Vacuum, as a courageous insect goes on a hilarious journey to escape his current predicament.

Sportswriter turned novelist Damien Wilkins has been described as possibly the finest New Zealand fiction writer of his generation. Celebrate the Festival's 20th year with the only Canadian to have been nominated for a Gemini, Genie, and Juno, as well as CBC’s Canada Reads. He can now add Wordfest to these accolades, as the recipient of the 2015 Anne Green Award. Stealing a page from his innovative Torn from the Pages project, Dave will be collaborating with the Festival’s most musically inclined authors to spark fresh stories around the concept of “20.”

Eunoia is the title of an award-winning conceptual poem, written by Christian Bök, as an univocal lipogram—a text written under a constraint, in which each vowel appears by itself in its own chapter.
