Consider applying for CRS (Community Rating System) status which would provide for discounted flood insurance rate premiums. 9. Seek grant funding to acquire and / or elevate flood loss structures. 10. Maintain ongoing web-based service to make digital zoning map available for staff and public use. 11. Create and maintain a list of repetitive flood loss properties. 12. Ensure adequate evacuation warning in case of major hazard event. 13. Improve shelter capacities with alternate power/heat sources. 14. Establish program to maintain continuity of government operations during emergency periods. 15. Identify alternate secondary road evacuation routes to be used in lieu of, or in addition to, major traffic arteries. 16. Place flood protection and other hazard education materials in all branches of the public library system. 17. Provide County staff to visit sites and assist property owners and developers with problems associated with drainage, erosion and flooding. Site visits made at request of owner / developer.
