TFamily Promise of Montgomery County during the month of February for a Share the Love donation drive to stock the Guest Center with essential items.
Members were asked to donate items for the kitchen pantry, as well as essential personal hygiene items including laundry soap to wash their clothes and gift cards to help families purchase refrigerated items. The donation drive was such a success, as members showed up with car loads of items to donate.

Corinne Coulter with Education for Tomorrow Alliance serves as the Team Lead for C.A.R.E.S. and stated “I feel this was an easy request as members could pick up additional items when they made their normal grocery runs. From food to personal hygiene products and grocery store gift cards, Chamber members were truly kind in helping make this one of the most successful donation drives.”
Family Promise of Montgomery County provides shelter, meals, transportation and compassionate assistance for homeless families with children. Families are able to stay in the Guest Center as part of their 90-day program. The Guest Center can serve up to six families at any given time. Each family receives holistic case management tailored to their individual family needs. Family Promise helps families with the essentials needs while providing guidance with finding employment, child care and enrolling their children in school. Families are required to complete online Life Skill classes on Financial Management, Good Nutrition and Healthy Living, Good Parenting, as well as Stress and Anger Management.

This team was instrumental in providing guidance to new and existing members. As we kicked off 2023, many members that we hadn’t seen in a while emerged with new year’s resolutions to become more active in the community. Our Diplomats provide a wealth of information for members from events to committees; they can assistance you with finding the right niche keeping in mind what appeals to each member and how much time you can commit. If you are looking to get involved, please reach out to one of our Diplomat team members as they would be happy to help you make connections.
The next time you are at a Chamber event or meeting, please take a moment to visit with a member of the Diplomat Team and thank them for their service. If you are new to the Chamber and have not had the opportunity to connect with your assigned Diplomat, please reach out to Cyndi Alvarado in our Membership Department and she can help connect you, so you may start building relationships!
