Spring 2013

From Project to publication The Spring 2013 conference will be the first of two conferences to explore issues related to research and publication for Academic Librarians.

Our Spring 2013 conference is scheduled for May 3rd at the RIT Conference Center in West Henrietta, NY. The conference will cover issues related to research and publication in an academic library setting. Speakers will address the importance of research in our profession and offer some insight into the research process from identifying a topic through getting your work published. We will feature keynote speaker Michael Ridley, Chief Information Office and Chief Librarian at the University of Guelph, Ontario. Mr. Ridley is an outspoken advocate for libraries (and librarians) as an integral part of academics. He was profiled as a “Member of the Week” in a 2012 article in the ACRL Insider –the Weblog of the Association of College and Research Libraries. View this article at http://www.acrl.ala.org/acrlinsider/archives/6376 The conference will include an additional speaker discussing research design, a poster session, panel discussion, and don’t forget the food!
