HEALTH & WELLNESS SUMMER SERIES
Holly Wade, MEd., is a mind/ body expert and motivator for vibrant living. She is passionate about helping people connect with their bodies, their self, and their lives. With over 20 years of experience as a fitness/ wellness professional, she offers much experience in seeing the whole person and moving you toward your potential. Her philosophy is that the most important subject to major in is YOU!
What’s Your Body Telling You?
Healthy Low Back
Jul 13, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. The brain-body connection is a powerful one. Your body is continuously sending you signals ... and your thoughts are creating responses in your body. This circle between the brain and the body continually gives you information. As an example, tight, rounded shoulders can represent “carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.” As you investigate your worries and let them go, that tension eases. In this interactive workshop, we practice checking in with the signals of the body and observing our thoughts to observe the connection between the brain and the body.
Aug 10, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Low back pain is the number one reason people miss work. Face it, when your back hurts, your whole body hurts. This is a handson workshop to help you understand causes of low back pain so you can be proactive in taking care of your back and keeping it mobile. Come dressed for activity! We practice exercises that strengthen abdominals and the rest of the core, as well as stretch the low back and hamstrings.
GROOVE™ & Self-Care Jul 27, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Nurture your body, mind, and soul with some GROOVE™. GROOVE™ is a dance experience with no choreography. No right or left. You can’t get it wrong. We unite in a common move or rhythm and you get to express it your unique way. Then we turn to other forms of self-care for your body that you can do at home such as meditation, journaling, and massaging and stretching out the “kinks.” This is time for taking care of you!
How to Use Essential Oils for Everyday Living Aug 24, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Essential oils are literally everywhere. But not all oils are created equal or should be used in the same ways. In this workshop, learn what to look for in oils, and when and how to use them. Start to incorporate oils into your everyday life confidently.

Remembering World War I: Its Lasting Influences Into the 21st Century
Interest in World War II remains high with the public; however, most of the civilian and government programs, military innovations, use of media, gender roles, and world involvement, to name a few, did not begin with this war. It began with the first World War that set into motion the 20th century, and its ramifications are felt well in to the 21st century. In April 2017, the U.S. commemorated its 100th anniversary involvement in this “war to end all wars.”
Coming this fall on Monday afternoons!

America Joins the European War • SEP 25: Military/Soldiers • OCT 2: Homefront, Food & Economics • OCT 9: Media, Entertainment & Sports • OCT 23: Gender Roles & Clothing • OCT 30: War Ends Repercussions • NOV 6: Ready for the Next World War
