Warehouse Location Numbering System

As the name tells you, this is a series of numbers that denote the various locations within a warehouse

To find a product within a big warehouse, first thing to do is to identify the “Zone where the product is being placed

Once the zone is identified, the next is to identify the right “Aisle”

The next is to identify the right “rack” among many racks in one Aisle

Next is to identify the “level in a rack

Then, the position of the inventory

Now, you have the right product ready in your hands

To enable an easy identification of inventories, keep your warehouses well designed with optimum racks and identification numbers

Simplicity & No duplication are important The numbering should never make complications to the entire warehouse processing. Unique identification number is a must in order to avoid wrong picking. Even if a human feels it complicated, the system may feel it comfortable. Be simple when you number your warehouse locations.

Many racks with similar numbers. I am just fed up, man..
