OBITUARIES Robert Tilson, Sr.

PRINCEVILLE – Robert George Tilson, Sr., 77, of Erwin, Tenn., died Feb. 5, 2017, in Franklin Woods Community Hospital. He was a son of the late Elmer and Edna Cornell Tilson. Tilson was born in Kewanee and lived in Princeville before moving to Johnson City, Tenn., in 1991. He retired as superintendent Tilson from the Princeville Canning Company after 33 years of service. Other than his parents, Tilson was preceded in death by one great grandson, Conor Liam Tilson, and a brother, Phillip Tilson. He leaves behind to cherish his memories: two sons, Robert G. Tilson, Jr. of Clermont, Fla.; and John Cecil (Rachel) Tilson of Erwin; two daughters, Tina Marie (Bob) Burrows of Clermont, Fla.; and Mary Sue Tilson of Johnson City; one brother, Leonard (Mary Jane) Tilson of Princeville; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday (Feb. 11), at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel in Erwin from 11 a.m. until the service. Reverend Sarah Wells will officiate at the 12:30 p.m. funeral service. It was Tilson’s request to be cremated. YATES CITY – John R. Chesnut, 71, of Lake Mills, Wisc., died Feb. 1 at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center of Johnson Creek, Wisc. John was born Jan. 18, 1946, in Peoria, the son of Roy and Joyce Chesnut. He is a graduate of Yates City High School. John is survived by his daughter, Maggie (Brent) Keith of Lake Mills; grandchildren Bayleigh and Madden Keith; and siblings Mary (Tim), Harriett, Linda (John), Paul (Judy) and Jim (Norma). EDWARDS – Dorothy “Dot� Mae (Weyeneth) Hoerr, 84, of Peoria, mother of an Edwards woman, died Feb. 1 at the Apostolic Christian Skylines in Peoria. Survivors include her husband, John Henry Hoerr; children Jane and Breck Nelson of Edwards, Jack and Jody (Waibel) Hoerr of Peoria, Julie and Jim Barth of Metamora, Joan and Bill Schick of Magdalena, Sonora, Mexico, Jeff and Jada (Phillabaum) Hoerr of Peoria, and John and Serena (Sauder) Hoerr; 37 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Corda M. Jones

FARMINGTON – Corda Jones, 85, of Peoria, mother of a Farmington woman, died Feb. 2 at Garden Court Liberty Village in Peoria. Survivors include her husband, Dwight Jones; daughter Ann (Eric) Goggil of Farmington; son William (Pam) Larson of Dunlap; step-daughter Nancy Jones of Peoria; six grandchildren; and brother Edwin L. (late Mary Lee) Macklin of Riverside, Calif. Per Corda’s wishes, cremation rites were accorded. Funeral services are Friday (Feb. 10) at 10:30 a.m. at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington. Private family burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington after services. There also will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 11) at the United Presbyterian Church in Peoria. ELMWOOD – Rene M. Knapp, 72 of Chillicothe, brother of an Elmwood woman, died on Jan. 28 at his home. He is survived by his wife Delores (Humble) Knapp of Chillicothe; children Talley (David) Gentry of Bloomington, Rhonda (Tim) Regan of Aurora and Jason (Jayme) Knapp of Peoria; nine grandchildren, and sister Ruth Smith of Elmwood. Friends and relatives are invited to a memorial service on Saturday (Feb. 11) at 5 p.m. at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. PRINCEVILLE – Thomas R. Prayne, 70, of Princeville died Feb. 1 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Thomas was born Dec. 6, 1946, in Chicago, the son of Frederick G. and Evelyn Rae Prayne. He married Hollie Meyer on April 13, 1979, in Toulon. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Gina (Brian) White of Chillicothe;
