Dar’s Midwest Time Trial Championships - May 2
DAR’S MIDWEST TIME TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS FESTIVAL OF THE WHEEL WILLARD, WISCONSIN MAY 2, 2009 THIS IS AN OPEN AND WISPORT POINTS EVENT. $1.00 per entry goes directly to the CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK, and a donation is made to the DAR VOLLRATH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND. Directions: Willard is 8 miles west of Greenwood on County Hwy G. Registration: $20.00 individual, $15.00 family (3 or more) 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Willard Athletic Club. 12:00 noon start, beginning with road bikes, mountain bikes, tandems, recumbents, wheel chairs, roller blades, and anything on human powered wheels. Helmets required for all racers. Course: 1---16 mile loop (road bikes, mountain bikes, tandems, and recumbents) 1---7 mile out and back (wheel chair, roller blades, and others) Roads are lightly traveled blacktop, five corner loop for 16 miles, corners swept, monitored and the course will be sagged. Accommodations: Rough camping for trailer and motor home on site. Three other camping facilities are within 6 miles of the race site. Motels within 40 minutes are located in Neillsville, Loyal, Marshfield, Thorp, and Stanley. Perks: Shorts for first 75 to register. All participants who do this event and the Greenwood Road Race will be entered in a raffle for $100.00. Must be present to win. Awards: Awarded to fastest time male and female in the 16 mile time trial event. Middle of the pack award. Must be present to win. Medals: 1st—3rd place medals for each category (road bike, mountain bike, tandems, recumbent, wheel chairs, roller blades, and others). Roa bikes/mt. bikes will be a combined category with 1st—3rd place medals given in the usual Wisport male and female age categories.
