Christmas Edition

Welcome to our Christmas edition of Fired Up. Just keeping you all up to date with what’s been going on during 2014.

JANUARY Hot and Steamy Following a successful test at the BRE Burn Hall in November on the Hydramist® Sauna fire suppression system we commissioned JMS Studios in Norwich to produce a customer facing video of the features and benefits. JMS have worked on a number of large profile including Anglian Windows and Anglian Water and have produced over 250 television adverts over the last 20 years.

The video shows our system in operation and the reasons why you should install it. If you haven’t seen it yet just visit the home page of our website www.fireworks-ltd.com and click the link.

FEBRUARY World Biomass Conference

February also saw Fireworks attend as delegates to the World Biomass Convention in Amsterdam at the end of the month. The World Biomass Conference run by Greenpower is the world’s leading event centered around the Biomass Power Sector which took place at the Hotel Okura, Amsterdam, Netherlands. It showcases the latest innovations within the Biomass industry and followed our successful installation for EoN at Gladstone Dock in Liverpool.

Based on the success of this visit we will be exhibiting again at next year’s event to be held in the same location. We are also sponsoring a Coffee Break session and Derek has a guest speaking slot focussing on the importance of fire suppression on conveyors within this industry.

MARCH

APRIL

Get set for Hotelympia Argus Media Biomass Traders Conference

March saw us undertake our largest marketing project to date as we embarked on designing the stand to promote the 15AMPU at Hotelympia.

Although we didn’t have their budget it was a very large commitment in relation to both advertising and marketing spend to promote the 15AMPU.

Working alongside our design team Wisdom Design from Tiptree we engaged the services of a specialist exhibition designer Don Jones. Don has many years’ experience in designing high profile stands for large arenas such as ExCel having recently completed the stand design for Philips Lighting for their Frankfurt show.

Following the success of the Amsterdam World biomass Conference we were recommended to attend the Traders Conference in London. We took along our Exhibition Stand that had been purposely designed for the Biomass sector which both Derek and Lewis attended.

However the highlight was the appearance of guest speaker Jimmy Carr from 8 out of 10 Cats. It was fair to say that as the majority of the delegates were European they didn’t quite get his humour!!!!

Although there was some interest it wasn’t as relevant as the previous event.

MAY Hotelympia 2014 With the Hotelympia stand built and the branding and advertising around the ExCel complex complete Fireworks presented their high and low pressure Watermist systems. This followed on from the successful installation at The Dorsett Regency Hotel in Shepherds Bush. The stand was designed to show off the benefits of our systems with the nozzles suspended in pendants in the ceiling and images of the various installations including kitchens, hotels and saunas. The aim of the exhibition was to target specifiers including all of the canopy and ventilation manufacturers and post results have shown that this objective was achieved. We also ran a competition during the event for delegates to win lunch at HMP Brixton. This was a recent 15AMPU installation

and it was designed as both a PR and Promotional opportunity as well as showcasing the product so to speak. A bi-product of the event was the complaint we received via the organisers from Tyco who were very

annoyed that we had positioned our stand almost adjacent to theirs. This was of course intentional as they were promoting their Ansul Wet Chemical System and we wanted visitors to their stand to view an alternative.

JUNE

HMP The Clink Brixton June saw the winners of the Hotelympia competition attend HMP The Clink at Brixton in London. It gave us a great opportunity to meet a number of key consultants and to show them the 15AMPU system in use. The event was well attended and we received a number of very positive comments.

Fireworks attends the FSCI Annual General Meeting The sales team visited the Olympic Park, Stratford as guests of the FCSI (Food Consultants Society International). It was a chance to meet up with some of the most influential decision makers within the catering industry specifically related to the 15AMPU product. A number of consultants attending were already clients but it also gave us further networking opportunities. Photo shows Derek, Lee and Lewis at the top of the Orbis at the Olympic Park.

Fireworks at the House of Commons Fireworks entertained a selection of customers at the Palace of Westminster on the 3rd November. Although we opted for Wednesday 5th November (Fireworks night) this date wasn’t available due to Prime Ministers Question Time. Sponsored by our local MP George Freeman and hosted by Sir Ken Knight (Ex UK Fire Chief) the group enjoyed a tour of the Palace before sitting down to a four course lunch served in Dining Room B. This is an event that we run every two years and is well attended by some key customers. The opportunity of inviting Sir Ken Knight along as our Guest Speaker went down very well with a large number of fire officers as he was well known to them. Sir Ken was involved in the aftermarth of the Kings Cross fire as he was Chief

Commissionaire for London at the time and also had a major role as the head of the fire service at the 7th July bombings in London. The highlight of the tour was when the guide showed everybody the actual signed death warrant for the conspirators behind the Gun Powder Plot?

DECEMBER Catering Equipment of the Year 2014 Great to see that our 15AMPU Kitchen fire Suppression system has been named in the Top 50 best commercial kitchen products of 2014 by Catering Insight Magazine.

Sales have increased since our introduction at Hotelympia in April with a number of key installations now under our belt for a number of prestigious clients and contractors. "The Hydramist速 15 AMPU offers fast and effective extinguishing of catering equipment fires, is safe for people and the environment and dramatically reduces the spread of smoke from a fire."

Watermist have recently re designed the unit specifically for the saunas and large kitchen sectors. The product has great mass market potential and Lee is working very hard to make sure that we maximise our sales opportunities.

Seasons Greetings Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
