show to take place right after the first one. With so many gay men looking forward to Chelsea’s appearance, I just had to find a way to sit down with Chelsea for a few minutes and interview her for all our readers. After jumping through a few flaming hoops, I eventually found myself sitting on the other end of a phone exchanging some banter with the funniest woman on television right now. Check out what she had to say:

How did you go from New Jersey to being one of the biggest comediennes on television right now?

I went out to a gay bar the other day and asked some boys what they would ask you if they could. One of the questions a number of people kept asking in one way or another was, “what is your craziest drunken moment?” Oh my gosh! I haven’t had one of those in a long time, because now I have gotten really good at drinking. I probably wrote about it in one of the chapters of my first book. That was the wildest period of my life… my twenties. There really wasn’t one. They all kind of blended together. It was like a couple years of different people, men, apartments, and El Caminos.

Well my plan was to get out of New Jersey and get out fast. I had to scramble to come up with some idea of what to do. As soon as I graduated high school, I came to California and I had to find something I could do while I was drinking, and the only profession really was standup.

You’ve interviewed a ton of celebrities on your show. Which one has totally driven you crazy or gotten on your nerves the most?

Another was, “Have you ever had a lesbian experience?” I think I’ve made out with a girl once when I was on ecstasy or something, but not recently.

Describe your new book to me. I would just say that it is just a little recap of my life. I mean

is going on in my life and share them. I spend so much time making fun of other people; it’s nice to get back to my roots and make fun of myself. You can grab Chelsea’s new book, Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang at Books & Books or at your local bookstore.

Oh yea! Did you say bitches?

Well it could be a combination of the two. Well they were superiorly stupid. I like guests like that though. I like when they are kind of stupid. It makes me look like I am smarter than I am.

You have a massive gay following. How do you feel about that? I love gay people. They are like black people. They are very effusive. When they say something, they like to say it loud and I like that.

Obviously alcohol played a big part in your life. Yes. Alcohol is a big part of my life. Belvedere is my number one stunner. wireweekly.com | wire magazine | 13
