Worship Through Song Opening Hymn

"We Have a Dream: This Nation Will Arise

(National Hymn: tune of "God of Our Fathers") (V. 1, 4 & 5) Hymn #876 "Gather Comprehensive: 2nd Ed." Martin Luther King, Jr., adapted by Michael Forster, c. 1997 Kevin Mayhew, Ltd., Warren

1. We have a dream: this nation will arise, And truly live according to its creed, That all are equal in their Maker's eyes, And none shall suffer through another's greed.

2. We have a dream; our children shall be free From judgements based on colour or on race; Free to become whatever they may be, Of their own choosing in the light of grace.

3. We have a dream that truth will overcome The fear and anger of our present day; That black and white will share a common home, And hand in hand will walk the pilgrim way.

"Lift

Every Voice

Offertory Hymn and Sing"

Public Domain

1. Lift every voice and sing, till earth and Heaven ring, Ring with the harmonies of liberty; Let our rejoicing rise, high as the listening skies, Let it resound loud as the rolling sea. Sing a song full of the faith that the harsh past has taught us, Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us; Facing the rising sun of our new day begun, Let us march on till victory is won.

Scripture Response "In Cana at a Wedding Feast" (Ellacombe) (Tune of "I Sing the Mighty Power of God" and "Hosanna, Loud Hosanna") Carolyn W. Gillette, c. 1999 Carolyn Winfrey Gillette, c. 2001 Geneva Press (Permission granted for use during the Covid19 Pandemic.)

In Cana at a wedding feast, Christ worked his first great sign. There Jesus' mother told her son, "They don't have any wine!" He called for six stone water jars; they filled them to the brim; Through water changed to wine that day, his friends believed in him.

LET’S TALK

I’ll Make the coffee. You bring your questions. Let’s Talk. First Wednesday of the Month Beginning February 2 @ 10AM in the Pastor’s Study

We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. As part of the one Body of Christ, we welcome all to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us.

Out of our call to “do justice” (Micah 6:8), we strive to demonstrate the fullness of God’s shalom through living out our faith by caring for God’s creation. . Setting a place at the table for persons of all gender expressions and sexual orientations.

We are committed to being a ProReconciling/Anti-Racist Ministry. We seek to deepen our understanding of systemic racism, as Christ compels us to advocate for justice, fairness and equality within our world.
