Orange County Parks Hosts 5K at Chapin Station A family 5K is planned for September 7 on the West Orange Trail as part of the Orange County Parks 5KSeries. Presented by Bright House Networks, Arabian Nights and Magic 107.7 FM radio, it will be held at Chapin Station on the West Orange Trail, 501 Crown Point Cross Road, Winter Garden. Check in starts at 6:30 a.m. and the race starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. To register online for the race, visit OrangeCountyParks.net and click on the 5K icon. Poker Run to Benefit Police Athletic League
Blood Drive Planned at American Legion Post 3
“Thunder in the Garden,” a charity poker run to benefit the Winter Garden Police Athletic League is planned for Saturday, August 31. Participant cost is $25 per rider, $15 per passenger or $25 per car. All vehicles are welcome.
The American Legion Post 63 hold a blood drive every other month. The next drive is scheduled for August 30 from 1 - 7 p.m.
Registration includes an event t-shirt, one poler hand and one lunch. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at Winter Garden Village at Fowler’s Grove. Kickstands will go up 9 a.m. and the ride will finish at Stormy Hill Harley-Davidson in Clermont. Register online at www.wgpal. org. Donors will receive a free wellness check and cholesterol screening. A free Fandango movie voucher will also be given to all donors.
