EXPLORER & RANGER CHILL OUT

The Ice House truly is the place to be at Camjam this year. Being managed by Taff (look out for his bright blue hair) and his team, this area is specially designed for fourteen to seventeen-and-364-day year olds to allow them to chill out away from the younger Scouts and Guides. Open from 10am till late every day of the Jamboree. It’s going to be the home for brand new challenges taking place every night, ranging from constructing towers with marshmallows and spaghetti, an elusive baked bean challenge, snow blizzard rescue and of course a 4-person sack race. There will also be a week-long 8-person t-shirt relay with the grand finale taking place at the closing ceremony. Taking part in challenges not your thing? Don’t worry, there’s plenty of other things to check out. There’s a mocktail bar with some classy drinks, a pallet chillout zone and an inflatable corner with its very own ball pool. This is just scratching the surface of the awesome activities you will be able to find here. Make sure to pop down every day to check out the daily notices. Rumour has it that cake and biscuits might be able to buy a five minute visit who may be too little or who was born with the dinosaurs. So no matter what, make sure to check out the Ice House!

THE JAMBOREE BUG For many people on site today, this will be their first ever Jamboree, but there are also lots of people who have seen this site before. These seasoned Jamboree goers have well and truly caught the Jamboree Bug. But what is this mysterious creature and who has the worst case of it on camp? The Jamboree Bug is less of a teeny, tiny creepy crawly and more of that great big nostalgic feeling you get as you drive away from the Jamboree on the last day of an action packed week. From the moment you leave you will already to be excited to come back in 4 years time, and, if like many people, this is too long to wait,

there are plenty of other camps and Jamborees to keep you entertained in the mean time. We need your help to find the worst case of the Jamboree Bug on camp this week. The worst case we have found so far is from Jake on Southern Ocean Subcamp who has been to 10 Jamborees since 2010, with CamJam 2019 being the third time he has visited Huntingdon Racecourse in a row! Maybe you have been to more Jamborees than Jake, know someone who has been to a record number consecutively, or even think the Bug hit you so hard, you’ve spent more days at Jamborees in one year than anyone else at CamJam! If you have a great Jamboree Bug story come and let the media team know so we can help spread the Jamboree Bug across the site. Whether this is your first or your twenty-first Jamboree, we hope everyone leaves CamJam with a bad case of the Jamboree Bug, ready to sign up to your next great adventure.
