With spring arriving in wine country, Hungerford Hill is offering a collection of wines that showcase the season's lighter, fresher characteristics, making them ideal companions for warmer-weather entertaining.

The Epic Experience is a mini-degustation of five Hungerford Hill wines matched to bite-sized dishes, created by the acclaimed twohatted Muse Restaurant, offering the perfect introduction to spring entertaining. This signature experience showcases how seasonal transitions influence both wine selection and culinary pairing, with lighter whites and elegant sparklings taking centre stage as the weather warms.

Spring marks an ideal time to explore Hungerford Hill's awardwinning portfolio, particularly their crisp Semillons and vibrant Fianos. Under the guidance of winemaker Bryan Currie, Hungerford Hill continues to innovate while respecting tradition and terroir.

“Our Semillon grows in alluvial sandy loam on the southern bank of the Hunter River from the historic Dalwood vineyard, Australia's oldest continually operating vineyard, “says Bryan.

“These wines offer the perfect balance of freshness and complexity that complements spring's lighter fare and outdoor dining preferences.”

The winery's commitment to showcasing terroir from multiple regions becomes particularly relevant in spring, as guests can compare the bright citrus characteristics of Hunter Valley wines with the more structured expressions from Hilltops and Tumbarumba. You can expect bright and fresh aromas of citrus fruits, such as lemon, lime, and sometimes green apple – qualities that make these wines ideal companions for spring gatherings.

Offerings include Hungerford Hill’s celebrated Sparkling Dalliance, crafted using traditional methods, which provides the perfect toast to the arrival of the season. For those seeking something unique, their preservative-free wines demonstrate a commitment to minimal intervention winemaking, allowing the grape's natural characteristics to shine through.

The iconic barrel-shaped cellar door, nestled at the gateway to Wine Country, provides an architectural backdrop that's as memorable as the wines themselves. Open daily from 10am to 5pm, the venue offers guided tastings that reveal how seasonal changes influence wine selection and appreciation.

As spring unfolds across the Hunter Valley, Hungerford Hill remains a destination where tradition meets innovation, offering visitors a chance to taste the season's promise in every glass.
