Cultivate a moment...

At one of our many festivals

We’ve got lots of them. From running to wine-ing to arts and culture, there’s always something happening in the Wine Capital of Canada.

Break a sweat:

Road races, marathons, endurance events. From beginner to pro, you can work up a sweat at a triathlon, or take part in the 2017 Canadian Event of the Year, the Half Corked Marathon. Contestants run from winery to winery, glass in hand for 18km with more than 40 wineries involved. Too easy? Sign up for the Freak’N’Farmer Adventure Race... good luck! In the winter get your ski legs going at the First Chair Festival at Baldy Mountain Resort.

Grab a glass and a fork:

Seasonal wine festivals have a cornucopia of wine pairing dinners and experiences. Spring time brings the annual Pig Out where you can high five a chef and wander from picnic table to hay bale and try some BBQ paired with local wines. In the fall is the Festival of the Grape, a family friendly event now over 20 years old. Over 50 wineries to sample from and a medley of vendors with food and wares all in one place. Enjoy the music played on the grandstand, and either compete in, or watch competitors in the Grape Stomp. Not into wine? Check out the Oliver Cask and Keg Festival, focused on celebrating the creations from local distilleries, breweries and cideries. These are all part of the Wine Capital Festival Weekend.

Get creative:

Throughout the year our artists and artisans showcase their talents. Spring time brings the Wine Capital Artwalk, pairing art with wine in our downtown businesses. In the summer, take in an outdoor concert at a winery or at Music in the Park every week along with the Art/ Vendor market. Perhaps attend an outdoor movie night with the family, you might even catch the Perseid Meteor Shower. Curious about Oliver’s heritage? Check out the Oliver Roots & Fruits Expo, celebrating our Heritage and Agriculture, part of the Sunshine Festival. Fall brings the annual Art Show and Sale with over 100 entries of visual art.
