SPORTS Yes, Nashville is Music City... but it's also a BIG sports city. Nashvillians are passionate about their teams. Just check out a Preds game at Bridestone Arena to see what we mean. Nashville is home to four professional sports teams and several NCAA Division I programs. Nashville Predators Hockey Founded in 1998, the Preds are a professional ice hockey team competing in the NHL as a member of the Central Division. Games are played in the heartbeat of downtown Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena. Tennessee Titans Football Formerly the Houston Oilers, the Tennessee Titans relocated to Nashville in 1998. The Titans play in the AFC division of the NFL to sold-out crowds at Nissan Stadium. The team name is a nod to Nashville’s nickname of ‘The Athens of the South’. Nashville Sounds Baseball The Nashville Sounds were established in 1978 and are the city’s oldest active professional sports franchise. After playing many years at Greer Stadium, a state-of-the-art new stadium was built in 2015 known as First Horizon Park. MLS Nashville Soccer Club The Nashville Soccer Club made it’s debut in 2018 and the sport continues to grow in popularity here in Music City.
PARKS AND GREENWAYS Another perk to Middle Tennessee is the moderate climate we experience year long. So it comes as no surprise that there are plenty of parks, trails, and greenways in and around the area. The greenway system in particular makes it super easy to move around Metro Nashville. Rent a bike from local vendors to check them out yourself.
