Obituaries Verla Ann Kressley

Kressley Verla Ann Kressley 61 of Lake Elsinore, California went to her heavenly home on November 17. Funeral service was December 5, Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel with Tina Baker officiating. Burial followed at Post Oak Cemetery in Indiahoma under the direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home. Kressley was born on March 15, 1954 to Cleta Pearl Hosetosavit in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Verla earned her Registered Nursing Degree and she worked for Los Angeles County. She was a member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma. She enjoyed living her life, always smiling and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by: sister, Valencia Bigpond of Bristow, Oklahoma; uncle: Bruce Comanche Sr. and aunt: Margie Fulsom both of Mescalero, New Mexico; dear friend, Rachel Mendez; longtime companion, Robert Ford, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She is preceded in death by: mother, Cleta Hosetosavit; aunts: Wynema Comanche, Virginia Kazhe, Jean LeFlore and uncle Virgil Comanche Sr.

and she belonged to the “Women of Grand Prairie” and “Lonestar” pool leagues. She attended many out of town tournaments and was a devoted player. She is survived by her sons: Keith David Pahcheka and James Michael Sanchez. Brother: Arnold Dean Pahcheka. Sisters: Linda PahchekaValdez, Joni Pahcheka-Johnson, Sonia Pahcheka, Brother in law: Frank Valdez Nephews: Tony Valdez, Frankie Valdez, Arthur Ybarra Jr., and Christopher Ybarra. Nieces: Elizabeth Hughes and Joia Johnson. Aunts: Eva Chappabitty, Virgie Kassanavoid, Edna Poafpybitty and Vivian Holder. Uncles: J.D. Pahcheka, Orlan Holder and Bodie Wetselline. She was preceded in death by both her parents Elton and Betty Pahcheka. Her paternal Grandparents: Elton Pahcheka Sr. and Julia Kosechequetah Pahcheka. Maternal Grandparents: Otis Chappabitty and Lucy Quassacheeky Chappabitty. Uncles: Bob Pahcheka, Paul Pahcheka, Edwin Chappabitty Sr. and Great Uncle Max Pahcheka. Aunts: Irene Poafpybitty, Laverna Hoahwah and Marjorie Niyah. Special Relatives: Pinky and Sharon Wetselline, Byron Poafpybitty, Bebo Chappabitty, Sue Nauni, Gayle Niyah and Emerson Niyah, Mark Kassanavoid, and Paul “Wally” Holder. Nancy was a wonderful artist. She was also a magnificent cook. She had the courage and strength of a lion and the most sincere heart. She believed in family and had your back in time of need. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Pahcheka Julia Ann Pahcheka, known to most as NANCY, was born on July 12th, 1956 at Lawton Indian Hospital. She passed away on November 22, at her home in Dallas, TX with her family by her side. She was born to Elton "Big Chick" Pahcheka Jr. and Betty Chappabitty Pahcheka. She came to Dallas, Tx with her family on The Relocation Program in 1963. Pahcheks was employed as an LVN at Parkland Memorial Hospital for 20 years. She loved her job and loved her patients. Pahcheka was a proud full blood member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma. Our sister was a strong willed woman and very independent! She loved her two sons Keith and Jamie and all the grandkids. She loved her church, her pastor, and her bible study class. Her FRYBREAD was the best!!!!!!!! During her teenage years she was a softball and basketball player at many ALL-INDIAN tournaments in Texas and Oklahoma. Recently she was more involved with pool playing. She was a member of the “TNT Pool Team” and also “the Banditas Pool Team” in Dallas

Harold Lee Parker Sr. 75 passed away November 25, in Norman Okla., with his loving family by his side. Funeral Service was November 30, at Comanche Nation Funeral Home with Rev. Patrick McClung officiating; Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home. Prayer Service was November 29, at Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel. Parker was born April 19, 1940 in Lawton to Baldwin “Buster” Parker Jr and Frances Tahsequah Parker. He was a descendant of Chief Quanah Parker, he was raised by his grandparents Baldwin Parker Sr. and Nora Parker; He grew up in Camp 7 and attended schools at Cache High and Post Oak Missionary School. He was a retired truck driver with Affiliated Van Lines, Allied Van Lines and Southwest Moving and Storage for 27 years; he also worked for Comanche Nation Transit for 11 years retiring April 2015. He enjoyed playing pool, collecting ceramic horses and eagles. He was a proud member of the Comanche Tribe. He is survived by; children, Deborah Quinones, Aaron Parker and Gerard Parker spouse Debra Akoneto all of Lawton, “Tweet” Harold Parker Jr. and wife Shirla of Cache, siblings; Jacquetta and Bud McClung, Sandra and Lawrence Chestnut Jr. both of Cache, Ronald Parker of Gaithersburg, MD., Don Parker and Annette Tiddark of Lawton, Joyce and George

McSwain of Lakeland Fla., Ardith and Glen Leming of Sulphur, Debra and William Malone of Lexington and Eddie Tahsequah of Yakima WA. Grandchildren; Aaron Lee Poahway, Crystal Parker, Kelly Chatham, Wesley Stillwell and Dennis Stillwell, Joseph Parker, Dara Flores, Rodney Parker. Marilyn Marie Koassechony Spybuck

Spybuck Marilyn Marie Koassechony Spybuck was born July 14th 1950 in Lawton and passed away November 27. Funeral Service was December 4, Reformed Church in Apache with the Rev. Baxter Asepermy and Ponce Leon officiating. Prayer Service was December 3, at the Apache Reformed Church. Burial will follow at Cache Creek Cemetery west of Apache under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home. Spybuck lived in Apache and later moved to Oakland, CA following High School. She married Garland Spybuck. She retired with 34 years’ service to the government almost all of which with the Post Office. She enjoyed doing puzzles, reading and supporting her granddaughter Jordan’s activities. Spybuck is survived by: her brothers Donnie, Ferrell and Adrian Koassechony; Sister, Karen Koassechony and her son Robert Spybuck and granddaughter, Jordan Spybuck and countless nieces, nephews and valued friends. She was preceded in death: mother, Irene Koassechony and sister, Andretta Koassechony

George William Koweno Jr.

Koweno George William Koweno Jr. 70 of Cache went to his heavenly home on December 3, with his loving family by his side. Funeral service was December 8, at Post Oak Mennonite Brethren Church with Pastor Leonard Presley officiating. Burial followed at Post Oak Cemetery under the di-

rection of Comanche Nation Funeral Home. Prayer Service was December 7, at Comanche Nation Funeral Home. Koweno was born on December 18, 1944 in Del Rio, Texas to George and Juanita (Sanchez) Koweno Sr. He attended Post Oak Mission School and Indiahoma Public School. He worked for Lawrence Tank, Indian Health Service, Ft. Sill Indian School and Comanche Nation. He was a member of the Comanche Nation and a member of Post Oak Mennonite Brethren Church of Indiahoma, OK. He spent his life in the Cache and Indiahoma area and made lifetime long friends. Koweno enjoyed spending time with family and adored his grandchildren. He spent many hours working on small motors as a hobby and listening to his country western music. Koweno never said no to anyone in need of help and always had a funny story or joke to tell. George married Arleen in April, 1981 and together they had 5 children. Survivors include his children: Kristina and Keith Dunnam of Lawton, Jessica and Ronald Frampton of Lawton, Nathan Koweno of Cache, Kathleen and Brooks Beston of Port Crane, New York, Larissa Koweno of East Meredith, New York; grandchildren: Jackson, Sissy, Aliyah, Hayden, Elias, Kirsten, Alana, Damien, Caleb, Caleigh, Cameron; brothers and their spouses: Bill and Sandy Koweno, Oklahoma City, John and Mary Lou Koweno, Indiahoma, and Michael Koweno, Lawton; sister and her husband Lorene and Ronny Bowen of Indiahoma; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who were all a big part of his life. He was preceded in death by: his parents, George and Juanita Koweno Sr., grandparents: Menett and Eudora Koweno, Lois and Brauila Sanchez; uncle: Glenn Koweno, aunts: Marjorie Kelly and Louise Koweno. The family would like to give special thanks to O.U. Medical Center and Staff.

William “Bill” Pahdocony

Pahdocony William “Bill” Pahdocony 78 of Edmond went to his heavenly home on December 5, with his loving family by his side. Funeral Service was December 8, at Angie Smith Indian Methodist Church 36th and South Walker in Oklahoma City with Rev. Legus Harjo officiating. Burial followed at Otipoby Cemetery at Ft. Sill under the direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home. Pahdocony was born August 1, 1937 in Lawton to John and Doris (Lewis) Pahdocony Sr. He attended Stoney Point School and graduated from Elgin High School. He was an accomplished athlete in baseball and basketball in high school. Lawton Leagues and Cameron University. Pahdocony enlisted in the Army National Guard on September 12, 1956 in Lawton and was honorably discharged on September 11, 1958 in Oklahoma City.

Pahdocony was a member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma, Native American Church and Comanche Indian Veterans Association. He was a lifetime Bowler winning several tournaments and was active in jackpot bowling and would accept any challenge. He was an avid golfer and held the low score at Fire Lake in Shawnee for many years. Pahdocony was devoted to his family who loved spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his swift wit and humor. He was a quiet man who made others laugh loud. Pahdocony is survived by: wife, Virginia Kleeman Pahdocony of Edmond; six children and spouses: Debra Pahdocony and Becky Carter of Shawnee, Cory and Tammy Pahdocony of Rapid City, South Dakota, Johnna Pahdocony of Shawnee and Michelle and Dean Ferdig of Shawnee, Mark Gregory of Edmond and Renee and Kevin Olson of Edmond; nine grandchildren: Christine, Michael, Kyle, Tori, Kaci, Jennifer, William, Elizabeth, Christopher; four great grandchildren: Stetson, Vincent, Bastion and Wayne. He is preceded in death by: parents: John and Doris Pahdocony Sr.; first wife, Judith White Pahdocony; siblings: Leslie Pahdocony, Clifford Pahdocony, Jake Pahdocony, Cecelia Thomas, and Paul Pahdocony.

Clarence Tahpay Jr.

Tahpay Clarence Tahpay Jr. 64 of Cache went to his heavenly home on December 9, in Oklahoma City with his loving family by his side. Funeral services was December 14, at Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Matt Asetamy officiating. Burial followed at the Cache KCA Intertribal Cemetery under the direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home. Prayer service was December 13, at Comanche Nation Funeral Home. Tahpay was born in Lawton on November 3, 1951 to Clarence “Jimmy Jack” and Rhoda (Apauty) Tahpay Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Cache. Tahpay attended Cache Public Schools. He was a member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma and the West Cache First Church of the Nazarene. Tahpay was also of Kiowa Decent. Tahpay was a devoted employee of Livingstons Kennel for twenty five years which he loved to work rain, shine or snow. He had a big family which he loved dearly and loved to spend time with. He enjoyed great food, wrestling, cops, visitors and was an avid OU Football fan. Sodoku and cross word puzzles was his getaway. He is survived by: brothers: Cleveland Tahpay and Tony Tahpay both of the home, sisters: Cheryl Tahpay of Indiahoma, Rhonda Fipps and husband of Lawton; nieces and nephews: Jimmy, Susan, Matthew, Jennifer, JoAnna, Chris, Jeremy, Dale, Stacie, Josh, Francesca, Stefano, Keaton, Cassie, Andi and Claudia,
